I’m not defending him either. I’m just saying I won’t judge the guy beyond “doesn’t source uploads” just because he could or could not be a good or bad guy beyond what I know about him.
 
Like, one time a guy sent me a PM to tell me he hated all my art, no exceptions. So I immediately had him pegged as a troll, but I asked him why expecting a “lol because it sucks” reply. Instead he gave me this indepth, polite, well thought out analysis of why he simply could not enjoy it. Beyond that one admittedly blunt and dickish comment he’s a decent guy, and it turns out we’re both Game Grumps fans so we shoot the shit quite regularly now. Another guy I know here told me that as far as he’s concerned artists like me who upload our own art here, as compared to people who like make mass uploadings of other people’s art, don’t contribute anything worthwhile to this site and aren’t even worth having around. Again, I know the guy and outside of that one opinion I sincerely don’t appreciate he’s a good guy. Hell, on the flipside, there was a guy here who took stuff like me saying “it doesn’t mean you’re gay” in this pic’s description as an anti-gay sentiment, but thankfully rather than just writing me off as a jackass he PM’ed me, gave me the benefit of the doubt, and asked if that’s what it actually was. Of course I explained I actually am gay and it’s just a good-natured jab at how some people are really “ew gay”, and we’re cool now.
 
Long story short, I just can’t bring myself to judge a guy I don’t know based on one bad thing he does, since I certainly appreciate it when people give me that same benefit of the doubt.
 
Also, if you want a good laugh, someone else once sent me this really aggressive PM accusing me of being a homophobe and a white supremacist because I “made anti-gay comments” and “drew nothing but white human characters”. My response was “I am gay, I am Black, and that’s simply not true (careful, it’s explicit)”. His reply was “Oh.” and I _never heard from him again XD. I get tons of amazing private messages and have only gotten a handful of bad ones like that, but that one was my favorite “bad” message.

That bot uses the provided sources to notify them, without a source it cannot. It does not include derpibooru in its list of valid source URLS anyway.

Ooh, I just remembered DA has an automated ED bot that posts a comment on DA images that have been posted on ED. I know not if Go To Bed Seth joke posts are part of its programming, though… ^3^

I have to agree. I don’t know Seth nor most people that make art, but to assume the worst about person over one deporible act is hardly an assessment of their full character.  
But I don’t think we should just accept people like that to be a part of the community when they put in such little effort and reap any reward.
 
But for the sake of fairness, if he, or any other unsited uploader, that can prove capable of proper sourcing, may be offered leniency once they do the necessary work to correct their misconduct.

Lol. Y’see, that’s why I don’t want to say anything bad about the guy other than point out he won’t bother sourcing artists. I literally know nothing about the guy and for all I know, aside from that one thing he does that I don’t like, he might be a stand-up guy.

Some people are just like that. They’ll gleefully praise pictures made by artists while simultaneously being complete dicks to artists and be like “if he’s that sensitive he shouldn’t be drawing at all” if their behavior makes an artist have enough and quit. I’ve seen it before, I’ve experienced it myself, and I’ll continue to see it in the future, sad to say. Thankfully they’re the minority, by like a massive degree.

I honestly don’t know this Seth person at all outside of a handful of my pics he hasn’t bothered to credit and hearing his name mentioned by other people who have had the same experience, so to be fair I really can’t say anything positive or negative of him in and of himself. All I’ll say about him is scooping up other people’s work and posting it without bothering to give a source or credit or anything is pretty dickish. Like clickbait FunnyJunk.com MyLittleBrony dickish.

He won’t outright say he refuses, but he makes no effort to whatsoever, ignores comments and even one-on-one messages offering him sources or asking him to source them, and doesn’t enforce it in any way.

I know numerous artists who utterly despise that site because it refuses to credit them. Besides, even though I could stamp a big ugly “MADE BY BADUMSQUISH” on all my artwork, you gotta admit it is a colossal dick move to take artwork and not just not bother, but actually refuse, to give credit and a source.

And along the way, screw you. I used to visit EqD… daily. And then I started to see my stuff used there for article headers, with nary a mention of my name. And I noticed I wasn’t alone.
 
As long as this image there continues to go uncredited and unsourced, you’re arguing nothing. Nevermind that if, after a month, it finally does get credited, it’ll have been of little benefit to the artist or those interested in their other works.

Apparently, you did not read my comment when you wrote that. They credit everything, and rarely do not. I’m starting to believe the series of events from however many years ago you experienced was imagined.

And yet, this continues to go on without credit or source, despite comments there about it, and emails to the staff. I guess there are two kinds of artists, the ones with DA or Tumblr accounts that can raise a fuss, and the ones on boorus and chans that no one will pay attention to.
 
Maybe instead of defending them here you should be over there getting them to improve things.

And in none of those posts were there uncredited images? Actually, that may be rhetorical. I could tell you every image, video, fic, and exotic creation is accompanied by a source, and while not every Go To Bed Seth post is credited, they are on occasion, manely by Seth’s peers like Cal and Illustrious. That and there’s a reason more intelligent artists add a sig to their art.
