I personally preferred your safe bikini edit, because bellybutton aside, it looked less like an edit and more like how they could have designed her swimsuit.  
And I would still think that even if beginnings weren’t difficult, to clarify this isn’t a critique on the edit job.  
That said, I also enjoy show accurate bikini edits suggestive and above, but based on criteria besides aesthetics.
