Seems to me he was saying that Spike’s interest in Octavia was mostly/mainly/possibly only plot-based, which it was. With both her and Vinyl he’s shown definite interest in their booties and who could blame him? It doesn’t hold any deeper meaning, per se, and he’s possibly appreciating nice ass. But it’s still their rumps he was appreciating. He doesn’t do such for everypony. Also, with his second post he did state that the Vinyl/Spike was just a (maybe) and evidence has been presented to support such a maybe. It just feels to me that for the most part, in the end, everyone was essentially right one way or another.
 
But, i digress.

Floyd Pinkerton said a lot of things that weren’t correct such as Spike dating Vinyl (which he never did) and had showed a love interest in Colgate and Octavia (which he never did). But they’ve since updated their posts a bit, so we’re all good here.

1st example is Spike trying to hold back on his natural like for butt. That isn’t him having a love relationship with Octavia or Vinyl.
 
2nd example is Spike asking Vinyl to go with him to single’s night as like a wingman. Sort of moral support as a friend. Not asking her as a date to go. Vinyl’s just teasing him.
 
3rd example is not moondancer coming onto Spike. Like I said in my other post, Moondancer save Spike there from having to choose between Starlight or Lily. She kissed Spike as a shock so he didn’t have to hurt the feelings of others or him getting in trouble.

the vinyl was more a onesided tease to distract him in the game. but if anything it was still just vinyl, not spike.
 
moondancer bailing him out of trouble. she doesnt shy away from helping him in the most efficient way even if could be embarrassing.

Agreed entirely. I’ve never seen Spike and Vinyl having anything but a total bro-tastic type of friendship.  
Moondancer is sort of the helpful in her own way type of older sister type to Spike, not quite as close to him as Twilight as a real older sister figure, but still there.  
Starlight at this point I keep wondering if she’s just teasing to the extreme, or she really does want him, but still too afraid to commit to him entirely so she just has her little ongoing silent battle with Lily. She had her chances.  
Lily obviously is the girlfriend of Spike but we all know this.

Spike never dated Vinyl. Spike has never said anything about Octavia’s plot to my knowledge.
 
Moondancer hasn’t shown a love interest in Spike, but she is very ambiguous about everything. It really is hard to tell with her. I think, like you said, she just likes teasing others. But she has shown to side with Spike and try to help him with his dating life. She gave him scary movies to watch so the mares would hug him. She got Spike out of a pickle when he had to choose between Starlight and Lily too.

In these comics Spike has no apparent interest in Rarity. He’s currently dating Lily, previously dated Vinyl, and expressed interest in Colgate and Octavia (or at least their plots). Starlight and Moondancer are attracted to Spike (or at least tease him). Twilight and Spike have a basically platonic relationship, but she’s lustful when he rubs her.
