Using the dictionary of language from which you are translating is often a good idea. Like weblio.jp for Japanese or multitran.ru for Russian (and there actually is an article for “гы, although it is translated as “XD” and “tee-hee”).

Ah, I can relate to this. There was time when I’ve spent nearly a whole day digging trough dictionaries trying to figure out what the hell “Yipiee-ki-yay” means.

Russian alphabet
Those two Cyrillic letters are supposed to mean “Ha”
Couldn’t find a reference for it anywhere, gave up looking.
It’s not a translation, it’s just a transliteration, that’s what machine translators do when they don`t know some word. As MrOwen said, it is a sound of stifled laugh.
Direct translation is just ‘Gee’ via Google and Bing.
