That’s unfortunate, in the most honest sense.
 
It does however not change that in the last 4 years since he took my money and gave me an estimate of “soon” he still carried on taking on and completing others’ commissions while responding to yearly requests for a status update with “Working on it next” or just ignoring them.
 
Of course, this is the worst way to know that my ~half decade pending commissions are never going to be completed.

I get it. However, he’s been sick with that condition for more than four years, and the shit he was going through was a very real physical hindrance.
 
He could have just told you, but he was of that generation who were raised to not talk about personal problems publicly. Nothing anybody can do about it now.

This is really sad to hear. I had commissioned him a few times, loved his art. I did have to bug him a bit about finishing outstanding commissions, though (I did eventually get them, though.) It’s really sad to hear of his passing.

Yes, you initially brought it up before you knew. Then, after you knew, you kept ranting about it.
 
Just drop it and move on. You’re gaining nothing by continuing this, and just making yourself look insensitive. You lost money. They lost their life.

Apparently JumbleHorse removed most of their art a while ago. What happened? I can’t find anything consistently in common about what’s left…

No one really knows. There wasn’t any explanation when it happened. Their art can still be found on Tumblr though.

We are very happy to be able to continue to host some of their art. Unfortunately, they did not give us permission to discuss their reasons for the takedown with others, but I can say the takedown was very cordial, and we look forward to being able to host more of their art again in the future.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. There didn’t appear to be any signs of the artist being disgruntled particularly towards us or anything. And their work was generally well received here. I guess they have their own reasons. But it just happened so suddenly one day, out of nowhere.
