My parents told me about this one. Shame.

I’m probably the only person on here that was a fan of her, but country singer Holly Dunn died. (and from the same thing that’s claimed most of the musicians in this thread). Her biggest hit was Daddy’s Hands.

So, add also Vanity to the list; also, i’m late by nine months on that one.

Several months ago, Rod Temperton, leader of the British funk band Heatwave, died of cancer. Between his best known compositions for the band we can name Boogie Nights, Star Of A Story, Central Heating, Too Hot To Handle or Keep Tomorrow For Me.  
But he was best known from his work alongside Quincy Jones: he penned Rock With You, Off The Wall, Burn This Disco Down, Someone In The Dark, Baby Be Mine, THRILLER or Lady In My Life for Michael Jackson; Love X Love, Off Broadway and Give Me The Night for George Benson; Baby Come To Me for Patti Austin and James Ingram or Spice Of Life for The Manhattan Transfer, plus many others. Quite a guy, huh?

The man who made Celestia deep along with Viva Reverie, Jean Jacques Perrey, dead at 87 on November 4th. A techno pop precussor.

I’m seriously shocked by the news. Cause of death is currently unknown, but the police says he died peacefully.

It seems he died of heart failure, related to the health problems he was having since 2011. This really makes the lyrics of Last Christmas somewhat terrifying… Still love the song: for me, the best Xmas pop song ever (OK, I love Lennon - more of a Macca fan when it comes to solo Beatles, though - but I think Merry Xmas (War Is Over) is a just a lil’ bit sappy).

Can we just say “Fuck 2016” and leave it at that? We lost so many legends this year both in and out of music it ain’t funny.

Also, forgot that recently you Americans lost a great hero like John Glenn, admired, believe me, woldwide (except for that bloke who punched him on that rally).

LOL, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m honestly not a huge fan of the Lennon song either–not to diss the Beatles or anything, but it’s not his best work. ^^; My personal favorite Christmas songs will always be “Christmas Is the Time to Say I Love You” by Billy Squier, Collective Soul’s cover of “Blue Christmas,” Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24,” and the two Christmas songs by “Weird Al” Yankovic (“Christmas at Ground Zero” and “The Night Santa Went Crazy”).

I have to agree with @bigladiesman. This has been a pretty good year for me personally, but it’s been horrible for the world. Still, nothing is topping 2014 for the worst year of my life any time soon.
