Star Wars 7 was at least pleasant, if extremely derivative and copy pasted from Episode 4. Ray was kinda silly, but at least story was engaging. It felt like Star Wars, but with a pinch of JJ Abrams (tension breaking humor and a fuckton of lensflare).
 
Star Wars 8 was an abortion of a movie, written and directed by people who cared more about following an agenda than the SW universe. I say this often: Ryan Johnson was so focused on subverting expectations, he forgot to make a good movie.

That’s silly. There’s a difference between changing a tire and flying a spaceship, or to move a freaking mountain with your mind. The term is overused, but Rei IS a posterchild for the Mary Sue trope: overpowered, perfect, best at everything without even earning it. Again, in SW7 there was wiggle room for explaining her deeds (worked on ships, so probs knew how to fix em, Kylo was hurt etc) but with 8 we just went full “Rei is space Jesus”. Git dat crap outta here.

The new ones lack the magic and charm of the originals, especially ESB, and the originality of the prequels. The prequels may have had a lot of issues but they still had the Star Wars charm and tried new things. They had soul. The new ones feel soulless.

Move out to some relatively isolated place, keep my lifestyle the same (except that now i’d have more money to spend on art supplies, books and clothes), travel a little, and spend a good portion of the money investing on arts, culture, education, and all that good shit.
