Ah, never watched RWBY so don’t know anything about it. I actually thought RWBY is basically a different version of Teen Titans if the big heroes of DC are in the final shot like the story concludes with a proud Justice League or whatever. (Though Black Canary and Vixen are weird additions to the main team, and not that I don’t like Jessica Cruz but I always feel Hal Jordan and John Stewart fits better.)

I remember when I was younger watching Animal Planet for interesting shows like The Most Extreme, Monsters inside me, and the like. It’s a bit of a shame to see the channel be a shell of its former self.
“Earth is a planet of extremes.” Seeing those explosive number transitions and the weird cursed animations, felt like the forerunner of youtube.
It was the epitome of the 2000s futuristic aesthetic.

A Heavy Topic here related to gore, guns, and slashers in general so don’t look unless you can handle it:
Hey Wayne, if you want my two cents on the whole “gun being the hero’s weapon against a slasher” topic:
If you simply want someone dead, use a gun.
This is for Mercenaries, Hitmen, and Assassins who are strictly business.
And I suppose Mass Shooters as well.

If you want someone to suffer before death, use a painful and personal tool like a knife.
This is for Serial Killers who want pleasure in the kill.
Serial Killers will sometimes use guns to dispatch those who get in the way of their intended targets but they won’t really get much enjoyment out of it.
Serial Killers LOVE to bask in the suffering of their victim, which they don’t really get much of if they use a quick killing tool like a handgun.
It’s why most slasher horror games don’t have killers that mainly use modern firearms, since it’s not really a close up and personal torture interaction.

I get that. It’s like the Joker’s speech when he was in the interrogation room with some random guy. Guns are too quick and you can’t savor emotions. But I’ve seen guns being used to torture (Robocop for example) and it can be just as terrifying as a knife or any other cold weapon.
I guess I’m just really tired of the whole “Guns are good guy weapons and knives are more scary” cliche. Guns are freaking scary too. Have you heard how loud those things are?
