I like Mateus for sheer asskickery (Instead of a final form, you kill him, but then his personality just splits and he takes over the afterlife and gets more powerful instead. Lawl, wut!) and also his duplicitous nature in Dissidia, trying to knock off all sides, as well as his hilarious view of Jecht being the perfect right-hand man because he’s a stupid musclehead who could be trained to be a loyal attack dog. Or something along those lines. He was so condescending to Jecht.

Haven’t played 10 yet, so can’t say much ‘bout Seymour but I agree Kuja was a lot more clever and manipulative than he first appeared. He’d do great with Kefka, too. Just look at them.

I like ExDeath. Just a prick, and he was actually an intimidating presence I found since you never get an edge over the fucker until the end.
 
Then again, I played FF5 stupidly my first time.
 
And, I get the feeling that a lot of the bile for FF7 and its characters has little to do with the game itself but just people nitpicking it as a scapegoat for the decline of the series and because of its massive popularity among the unsavory elements which ruined the games by becoming fans of the series.

possible but I’m not that into this video game stuff.  
But as far as I can tell this has only been a big deal for the gamecube and wii, so 2 situations is not much of a pattern to go off of.
 
And Nintendo does do things that irritate me

actually people have been calling Nintendo doomed since the SNES/Genesis days (maybe earlier) so the 90s at least, but the fact the company has been around since the 1800s doesn’t make it look like they will die in our lifetime.

Nintendo survived a lot of stuff. Sega, Nintendo big competitor is out. Leaving Sony and Microsoft. So far Microsoft is failing at this.

also people are saying the Wii-u is doomed, while the Wii was pretty much an instant success, the PS3 and 360 both took years to take off, it has been less than a year so far, once we get a new Zelda and Mario we won’t have to worry :P

they still need a kick in the ass. More focus on making games with character and childlike exuberance. But still being challenging and engaging enough for an adult.
 
That shit has been absent from gaming for too long. If they could secure that niche they could bury Sony.

considering I find most Nintendo games to actually pose a challenge compared to Sony games, it isn’t really that.  
Most people will tell you if you want to play the most games a good PC and a Nintendo console will get you the biggest selection since Nintendo has LOADS of exclusives something neither Microsoft or Sony really can boast since most of their games have a PC version or will eventually be ported to PC.  
Also at least Nintendo kept backwards compatibility and F2P online. :)

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really dislike the terms hardcore/casual fpr both PC and consoles. As long as the game is fun and I enjoy playing it afterwards.
 
Also, just because you like a console in particular it doens’t mean it’s inferior or superior to another.

Same, a Casual game can be Hardcore (I mean look at Speedrunners [This reminds me I need to look up Metroid Fusion 1% Speedrun Tricks]) and a Hardcore game can be Casual. What is and isn’t Casual/Hardcore is more of an opinion than anything.

I have one question though… how many Sony games end up on PC? Not many of their exclusives I thought, it’s more Microsoft’s problem right?

other than first party, quite a bit of games are shared between PS3 and 360 and PC (with the 360 version more often than not being superior between PS3 and 360)  
Sony has a wider library of games that don’t end up on PC because of those 3rd party JRPGs like Atelier and Neptunia but it isn’t all that big of a difference compared to the sheer amount of exclusives Nintendo has because of their roughly 30 years worth of IPs also Sony has a tendancy to milk a IP if it does well with shorter and shorter games (GoW3 blind on the highest default difficulty took me around 5-7 hours it definitely wasn’t worth the price it was at launch)  
Also Sony needs new IP main characters all of them are either angry or sarcastic which aren’t bad but all of their IP main characters can be put into one or the other or both. Also I miss Parappa the Rappa (best Sony IP)

Sephiroth isn’t a bad villain(Until later works Sueified him), I just think Ultimecia was better developed and had a generally more impressive plan, Also i liked the cast of FF7 just fine when they were all them selves before all the other crap kept changing them around, Mostly them changing Cloud from a shonen hero into a clone of Squall,
