For the last time, nobody here wants communism, what we want is what the Scandinavian countries have and they’re not communist countries. And they’re most certainly not shit(hole) countries.
We’re fuckin’ tired of hearing this shit.

And WE are fuckin tired of people advocating for economic policies that don’t fucking work. America is not Norway and Denmark.

You’re naive as fuck if you really believe that bullshit. Opportunity, schmopportunity. It sure as hell hasn’t worked for me or my family.

Our country, meanwhile, has no problem doing the exact opposite: taking money from the poor and giving to the rich. Trickle-down economics doesn’t work. It’s time we tax the wealthy to give that money back to those who rightfully earned it.

And yet it works just fine for non failures who don’t make excuses or blame everyone else for their problems. There’s a reason it’s called the land of opportunity, not guarantees.

The rich do not get rich by taking from the poor, that makes no fucking sense whatsoever. Those rich people you hate so much are responsible for employing hundreds of thousands of people, which is also why they get tax breaks,in addition to providing goods and services to millions of people.

The rich may get richer but so do the poor. Do you really think poor people are worse of now then they were, say, 10,15 years ago? Before Amazon, before Uber, before smartphones?
Background Pony #6542
The wealthy already pay taxes, taxing them more isn’t going to do a god damn thing except maybe take their business elsewhere which would be worse for everyone.

Sorry, but I no longer believe in that “land of opportunity” bullshit. I’d have better opportunity elsewhere.
Poor people, even with smartphones, Uber, and Amazon are still shit out of luck, so to answer your question, yes.
except maybe take their business elsewhere
I honestly don’t give a shit if they do.

If they are “shit out of luck” that is their own fault. Especially with the all the social welfare programs and resources we have.

People RISK THEIR LIVES to come to this country illegally, that’s how good you have it in America.

Actually, Poor And Middle-Class Americans Are Richer Than Their Counterparts 35 Years Ago

Then you are the naive one, because if they all leave, that’s the end of the economy. Your country will essentially be like what Venezuela is now.

The funny thing about capitalism is, being rooted in the modern take of feudalism, it inherently devalues labor. And by funny I mean in America 40% of the population are unable to afford a $400 emergency.

Thanks to Bernie, Amazon workers now make around $28,800 a year only due to Bernie forcing Bezos to pay his employees $15 instead of minimum wage of $7.25…and even then Bezos still took away most of their benefits to compensate. But for the sake of argument we’re going with the higher number.. Meanwhile Bezos makes roughly $78,500,000,000 a year.

Read about Amazon working conditions and then ask yourself:

Does Bezos work 2,725,000 times harder than his average employee?

Nobody is being forced to work at Amazon, if you don’t like it, work somewhere else. Their labor is not as valuable as Bezos because he started a highly successful company and their low level employees did not. They’re also not creating those jobs, products and services.

If you can’t handle a $400 emergency then you suck at managing money and you need to get good.

You know call me crazy but I don’t think you’d be a Socialist if you were the one being taxed to death. Just a theory.
Background Pony #6542
I’ve had a few $400 emergencies in my day and the reason I was able to handle them is because I don’t make utterly retarded financial decisions like not saving or having children outside of marriage.

Something like 8 million Americans work more than one job. Studies vary, but some polls estimate up to about 45% of homeless people have a job…but are still homeless.

I thought ‘something something bootstraps’ were supposed to magic away the Working Homeless problem? It doesn’t. Turns out there’s all kinds of systemic and societal factors involved as well.

The rich do not get rich by taking from the poor, that makes no fucking sense whatsoever. Those rich people you hate so much are responsible for employing hundreds of thousands of people, which is also why they get tax breaks,in addition to providing goods and services to millions of people.

That’s literally what commerce is you kumquat, one person exchanging money for goods. And unless you think 100% of all commerce is done by billionaires, then it literally means the rich does get rich by taking from the poor.

And considering how 1% of the top Americans owns some 60% of the wealth, yes. There’s a whole lotta rich taking from the poor.

And don’t try to dodge the point by saying “The poor shouldn’t buy from them/stuff they don’t need then!” We both know the point being made here as well as the fact that in the terms of food or stuff, the poor literally has no choice.

Do you really think poor people are worse of now then they were, say, 10,15 years ago? Before Amazon, before Uber, before smartphones?

YES! Have you never heard of the phrase “The rich get richer and the poor gets poorer”? It didn’t spawn from nowhere.

Or if you want it spelled out in a catchy song.

GOOD!

Like holy shit I am 1 billion percent serious here. Let those fucking parasites leave the country wholesale and just try and set up shot somewhere else. I will laugh myself into hysterics as they find out that America is the most corporation friendly nation on Earth, and upon going to most any other 1st world nation responding with “Wait, you want us to pay taxes too?” Or even better they can set up in a place like China. I’ll have the news report on all day loop when they try to loophole to avoid taxes in an outright authoritarian country.

Even better if they actually come back! All their factories or offices or whatever will most likely have been filled, leaving them with either the option to buy it out again (thus distributed the wealth) or they’ll have to find out what living middle or lower class is like in America.
Background Pony #E8BC
@Background Pony #D75B
Most people who work at lower level jobs cant afford $400 emergencies because the wages just about cover the cost of living if they do cover the cost of living. To put it another way, a 40 hour week where I live will net you about $290 not counting taxes and other fees at minimum wage. Because of my cities recent policies, the cost of renting has gone up from around 500-700ish a month to around 1100 a month.

Here is a good question to ask, how can a person afford rent, utilities, food, etc on a monthly salary of 1160 not counting income tax or other fees taken from the paychecks? A good payrate is about 10-11 an hour. That is 1600 - 1760 a month not counting taxes and other such fees. Even with that, it is still a stretch just to make ends meet. BTW unless you have marketable skills, 10-11 an hour maybe 12 is about the best you can do here.

Hell with production wages going as high as 14 an hour, it is still sketchy.

This isnt retarded financial descision, this is how life is at the bottom.
Background Pony #6542

$290? For working a 40 hour work week? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

You’re joking, right? How many people make that little money? I would never allow that, if you’re willing to accept pay that low, you’re working an extremely low skilled job. Do better.

Ah. So people are dumb for not having a job. But if they do have a job then they are dumb if it doesn’t pay well. If they were smart they would’ve picked that high paying, low effort job right next door amirite? Only dumb people work bad jobs!
Or they should’ve been really smart and skipped the whole “job” part and went straight to creating their own business. That’s what smart people do. You don’t need money to start a company after all. And even if you do you can just use your piles of cash you have from not working a job to start it. Brilliant!
Really covering all the bases ain’tcha?
Background Pony #6542
Most people don’t make minimum wage, and those who do don’t have any skills and are working that job to develop experience.
