So they’re actively deceiving their userbase by attempting to conceal a fundamental rule change from them?
Sounds like it fits to me.By the way, did Derpibooru make sitewide announcements in the past years, whenever they added something new or reworded any of the rules?I’m not so sure.So why does it matter now? Just another change of the rules. We had plenty of those.
They did not announce changes in the past(as far as i remember) but it was one of the problems in this drama and there were some comments by staff members that said that they will be working on transparency so we should expect them to do something as basic as announcement for transparency reasons.Well, but if that’s the case. How do you think all the users here (who’s been using this site for years) would react, after seeing a notification about something they NEVER got before.It’s an interesting question actually. :)
I also suggested a compromise a bit earlier in the thread: making a generic notification-announcement, reminding people “to check on the rules, because those could be updated from time to time, so that they won’t break them”,
Opinions among staff are heard more, rules are more clear, every action is discussed between the team and no decision is being made by a single head, followed by how we still offer full appeal procedure to anyone who’d like to question a deletion of theirs through IRC/Discord;
