@Spinny
Though she’s my best pony, Fluttershy has consistently come top of polls throughout the fandom’s existence. The same polls that Rarity generally comes out near the bottom. I might possibly suggest that’s a little undeserved.
…Luna wins a special award for being ludicriously overrated in the early years, though her fandom has settled down considerably.
@ILoveMyoozik
I guess, though I have an affection for her. She was a great fanfiction character, and I feel it’s sad that so many people now only remember her as a meme.
If we’re talking overall, I’d say Fluttershy. There was a time she was like a sacred cow, guaranteed to top any best character polls, bad-mouthing her was a death sentence, and the primary reason so many people hated Gilda was she yelled at Fluttershy. She’s died down a lot lately though, so currently I’d say it’s a tossup between Maud, Starlight, and Luna :D
Fluttershy was definitely overrated in the early days, but in later seasons, she really ended up standing out by simply not regressing in the same way most of her friends did. Hell, that was evident just by season 9 alone.
Applejack, though? Most underrated character in history. ;P
@Philweasel
I’m not denying that a lot of people in the fandom gravitated towards her early on, but I just can’t relate to her in any way. I’m not saying she’s a bad character in a way, but she doesn’t do it for me and I think she gets overexposed when it comes to the fandom overall.
I want to kill Marble Pie!!! What a godawful character she is!!!! How lazy could the writers possibly be to just make her a Fluttershy clone?!!?!!??!??!?!
So horrible and extra shameful because Limestone is fucking sexy!!!!!!!!!
The problem with Fluttershy is that in the show, she’s almost always gonna have the moral highground over whoever she’s paired with. She always has to be right, even if the show’s reasoning is shit or episodes suffer for it. Bats! and Daring Doubt come to mind
@ILoveMyoozik
I honestly would have been fine if both Pie sisters actually got an episode, as it would have at laste helped me like them a little more.
