Philantropy angers the right wing. Take Georges Soros and his foundation, coming to help migrants and centre-left or more realistic left-wing movements. OpenBorders is an important organization funded by rich philantropists who use their insane money with intelligence, for the well of the people.
The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is also a good foundation, they know they won’t be buried with their billions. Every billionaire should spend their fortune in the human.
Elon Musk isn’t a right person, spending money in rockets is not profitable for progress. Space is just a horrible waste of resources to spend money on nothing instead of helping human beings.
Personally I don’t even believe the NASA sent many or even one mission to the Moon. It was under Nixon and was just a huge propaganda to say like “Look how mighty the capitalism can be, Amerikkka fuck yeah!”
Not all billionaires or corporations are evil, most are working for improving society.
Earlier in this thread that Aryanne artist was talking about Open Source or Free software.
Okay.
It’s free, it’s helping, does it helps the community? Computers costs money and you still need to know how to install and use Linux software. Not everybody can do it. It’s complex, and not a solution.
He’s wrong - He supports Open Source because it is closer to an elitist fandom and basement dwellers and it’s always been. Free software is not communism, it’s anarchy. There is no control, there is no diversity or safety of having an employment and revenue.
Big Tech industry hires people regardless of their status, we have diversity, equal opportunity allowing people with student debt to have the chance of their life.
Discrimination in race gender or intelligence is a thing of the past, you can have an experience and be important for the corporation. Since a decade corporations have been doing more than governments, even more since tr*mp came to power.
Big Tech also helps countries in development to have production and revenues and this is a positive aspect of outsourcing, we focus in the technology and design, while others can work on the easy part.
Your smartphone is not Made in China or just Designed in California, it is a product of the world, and this is why I love my job.
Big Tech adapts. Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft are pushing movements in society and help spreading ideals. This thread is the proof it works.
Deplatforming far right propaganda is also the proof the intentions of Big Tech isn’t negative but helps on a cohesion and forcing a change. Same for issues on climate, on gender, on racism.
Communities like Tumblr, Twitter, Youtube, Social Media are shaping our civilization and made more for socialism than most governments in America or Europe so far.
It’s all about people and technology, not money and people. Let’s not be pessimistic, technology is our weapon and our ally in this fight.
