Okay… but I’m saying the reason it is HMS and not USS despite it being a US ship design is because as Equestrians they have a monarch. So it’s Her Majesty’s Ship Manehatten instead of the United States Ship Manehatten.
SemPBron3

As far as the ship is concerned it’s definitely a battleship and more than likely a New York class (They had the center mast and the quintuple gun set up, obscured by the raft and swells) but in the New York’s history, two were made, two were retired and one still exists, neither were destroyed in combat. Both ships served in both World Wars in varying theaters of war from the arctic to the South Pacific and Africa too. The reason for the HMS tag is because this is still Equestria, they still serve a female monarch.

Well if the pony isn’t dead he will be soon. Shock from blood lose is already playing hell with his core body temperature, he’s out of the water but his clothes are soaked providing very little protection, on top of that the swells are still drenching him and it is cold enough that it is snowing. After 10 minutes in that water (Assuming his body is similar to a human, maybe add a few minutes because fur) He will start to lose motor function and within an hour he will be dead, less because of blood lose.

Given the fact that the life preserver that our unfortunate sailor is clinging so desperately on to is emblazoned with the name HMS Manehatten, I think it very well is a New York class battleship

Very nice. So with a good few dreadnaughts I guess they could’ve sunk a New York class if they really put the pressure on.

I’m always impressed with how well the USN handled things, overall, though. They made some mistakes at Midway with air forces, but overall they do a very good job keeping their ships alive. It’s a wonder we didn’t lose more.

Not much they can do about the cold, I don’t think…

You know, I bet this image would seem a lot less grim in the show’s style. That’d be kinda fun to try sometime; draw it in show-style.

Still strikes me how odd it is - these conditions are perfectly fine for the merpony, but lethal to the normal pone, but the seapony just wishes she could help him, but can’t with how wildly different their physiologies are.

This should help answer your question. Germany was in an Arms Race with Britain before the First World War, and while the Royal Navy does have more ships you have to keep in mind that a lot of them were spread out around the world to patrol British colonial holdings, while most of the Imperial German Navy were concentrated in European waters, albeit stuck sitting in their home ports for most of the war.

I’m so triggered by a battleship being called a destroyer :p

Also makes me wonder if Germany had much of a surface navy in WWI. I know they had very little in WWII.
