It’s amazing to see the difference between season 1 and season 7 in the diversity (just look at the background characters and you’ll see it).
Maybe its a Dark Souls thing.
That… may very much be the case.
Their design models are also very diverse with Starswirl, Mistmane and Rockhoof being very different.
Maybe back in his day…! ahem, sorry, whenever I use those words, my text gets all raspy and crotchety. Maybe back then, friendship wasn’t weaponized. Or known to be usable in magic.
Honestly, in a setting where Friendship is an observable source of power that can reliably be called upon, this attitude really doesn’t make much sense for a scientifically minded Pony like Starswirl.
I could do some implications for that.
