Well, if you’re going this route then there have even more cameos during the end sequence. And then there’s also Flash, a copy of whom did make it into the show. I guess I misunderstood the question, I thought it was about whether they’ll get any sort of a role as characters who affect the plot, rather than as easter eggs.

So did that balloon pony from starlight’s cult episode. And pinkie made a discord balloon, so he was referred to.

None of the EqG-specific cast made it into the show. And none of the non-princess side characters from the show got even their existence acknowledged in the movie, either. Where was Starlight? Or Discord? As such, past experience points to “no” for this case also.

Does anyone know if tempest is going to be on the show?

Correct, the sisters came about before Equestria was formed (though their talents weren’t revealed yet) and groups of unicorns would exhaust their lifetime of magical power to raise the sun/moon.

Because an instance of them instantly stopping a takeover is viewed as boring. Your forget that Luna and Celestia killed Sombra (but didn’t know about his reserve power inside the crystal empire), defeated and imprisoned Tirek, defeated Discord, Celestia defeated Nightmare Moon, and depending on what level of canon you want to consider the comics, Celestia beat Chrysalis (by using power that was lethal to everything around her, which she couldn’t use at the wedding with all the bystanders).
 
Yes, this has the unfortunate side effect of us only seeing when they lose, not when they win, even though their victories have been indeed documented.

The fact that no one mentions these situations is an example of how everyone overlooks them.

Actually, only Flurry was naturally born. Celestia stated that a baby being born an alicorn had never before happened.

It’s implied that “ascending to an alicorn” is done through a very powerful process and great trial. This trial culminates in the gifting of completion of the form that unites all three races; Twilight technically gained earth pony strength AND wings.
 
Celestia, Luna, and Flurry are the only known “born” Alicorns, Twilight and Cadance ascended (with Cadance apparently starting as a pegasus).
 
Anyway, the point is that no one “gave” Twilight her alicorn status, she “unlocked” it by finishing Starswirl’s spell. The “void” is most likely a pocket dimension that twilight was sent to as a result of the spell that showed her the accomplishments that lead her to this moment. Upon leaving it, it was the final cog that unlocked the rest of her abilities.

… Also, she did lose it as a youth so it probably would be even smaller than that.
