My neighbors used to drive down there every summer to get Mexican fireworks from South of the Border. Then they’d do a killer display on the 4th. Used to sound like we were getting shelled by a battleship!

That’s often my issue with Pinkie. Overall I like her, but when it comes to comparissons between she and the mane 6, her unability to use her intelligence in a consistent way is the reason my liking for the character is not very consistent either.
 
Pinkie guides herself throught what she feels rather than what she thinks. Funnily enough, return of the harmony show us that while her thoughts and maybe intelligence are hard to pinpoint, her emotions are easy to read: being laughted at or feeling that her friends doens’t like her can really get her down. Plus, for all her cartoon physics, Pinkie can only work only as far as it’s fun, but when she’s sad or feeling down her cartoon skills dissapear.
 
Long story short, Pinkie is often assumed to be chaos incarnate, but while I certainly chaotic, she’s not exactly as unpredictable as people think. Keep on mind, chaotic character Discord, who consistently uses his intelligence, finds her more irritating rather than fun a lot of the time. So much for chaos partners.
 
Speaks a clown with a taste for chaotic aligments mind you.

Pinkie’s intelligence is a rather difficult thing to pinpoint.
 
In various cases, she has shown to be quite resourceful, organized (her hax file keeping skills) and innovative with machinery and planning events and such.  
But on other times, she’s airheaded, inconsiderate, and totally ignorant of the situation she is in. And she has a nasty habit of jumping to conclusions.

Well, some smart people tend to lack on common sense, like Twilight and the tree branch that fell in the library, where she was looking for a book rather than….well, put the branch out. Or Rarity concerned because she forgot the plates for a picnic, but she remembered to bring a fainting couch, or when Celestia thought Discord was a great candidate to defeat Tirek………………….. my point is Pinkie tends to put the lack of common sense up to eleven. Funily enough, my favorite Pinkie moments come from episodes where she is the main protagonist, mostly because she can be more insightful and versatile there, also she usually have more common sense in those episodes, all while still being the energetic weird pony we know.
 
However, given what I found out, it seems common sense is not Equestria’s strongest point. Make you wonder how the country can run without problems.

Yeah, althoghut is mostly because someone like Bugs or Tweetie is messing with someone. And I like it better when the fireworks violence happen because the character wants to deliberate mess with others
 
Good times when I watched the TV and see those wacky cartoons……..in hindsight I’m questioning if some of their moments were good for kids but whatever. The Coyote, Daffy and Bugs are definitely my favorite characters.

Stuff like this where cartoon character carelessly play around with explosives we’re a common staple in animations since the 1950s. Looney Toons for crying out loud. Now if they can bring back guns and alcoholism into cartoon mischief. That would be awesome.

I think it’s the whole “toon” thing, she’s more likely to do what would be funny rather than what would be a good idea or physically possible.

Why can’t Pinkie use her mind more often? There’s a huge difference between Chaotic/(good,neutral,evil) and Chaotic Stupid.

Illegal fireworks are the best fireworks!

I presume it was Pinkie Pie waking up sleppy Trixie in the middle of the night, drawing her into the alley (earth pony beats unicorn in strength) were the Supply Wagon parked and FORCED her to sell some fireworks of her show equipment! Well, at least Pinkie Pie was talking so quickly that poor Trix couldn’t resist. Especially because she didn’t understand what fast-talking Pinkie Pie said. Something about a show, and a sun, and Big Bertha… :-D

Akes you wonder. If these fireworks weren’t illegal. Why would Trixie have felt the need to sell them to Pinkie in a back alley at midnight?  
And furthermore. If they were illegal. You’d think Pinkie would have been prosecuted for unlawful use of dangerous explosives in front of a crowd of ponies, right? Hell she even openly admitted to making a shady deal with Trixie to a crowd that included two of Equestria’s mosy powerful royalties.  
Then again… It’s also likely she is under special imminity due to her connection with said royalty and her hero status.
