The fact that the writers would even bother to write that in says a lot. At least we know in the end he actually does have a heart. Plus I’ve seen this kind of cool guy fake attitude bullcrap before. I think that line was to stir stuff up in the fandom as a poking fun by the writers but either way the fact that they implied that literally on the actual show says a lot in itself regardless and his “pretendish” attitude isn’t helping. There was a room of 4 males who already saw that part and said “he’s denying it” plus I have a girlfriend myself and I can kind of see where this attitude lays within itself but either way It’s still cute and funny. I’m glad the show is self aware and someone actually pointed it out. They are way to close just for 2 platonic friend being a male and female. idk just seems weird like over the top with this “friendship” stuff. The interactions the way he is obsessed over her and how close they get always made me feel uncomfortable like in a good way. Not to say females and males can’t be friends but… the show makes this quite honestly rather obvious being Spike knows what a crush looks like. but it’s okay rarity and him are still friends to.

That excuse could have worked if he was actually fixated on tea in Dungeons and Discords, Discordant Harmony, To where and back again or Make new friends but keep Discord.

Spike was a total Karma Houdini in this episode. First he summons Discord for a relatively trivial problem, then taunts him about his relationship with Fluttershy, then manages to win a Faustian bargain with him. That’s a rare change in fortune for the little guy.

I think this might be the first time anyone’s directly called Discord out on this.
