Description
He’s been a trooper so far. But not everything will instantly be all happy and cheery, especially in the dark stillness when left alone with his thoughts, still mourning his mother. The adults have done as much as they could to shield him from the worst but he’s not immune to the gravity of the situation.

I’m glad things turned out better for you.
I can empathise quite a bit with him, actually; my mother passed when I was 12 and I ended up going to live with my aunt and uncle, who are fairly well off. It took a fair bit of time for me to come to terms with my new situation and everything that had happened, and it certainly wasn’t easy. Fortunately, like Pterus, my adoptive parents are very kind, good people, and things have gone well for me, as I’m sure things will for him once he is done grieving and recovering.

There is not a toy…an activity… A luxury…not even a damned soul in equestria can do to comfort or ease the loss this little guy is going through. There is literally nothing to stop the pain. So much has happened so suddenly. He has been put with probably the most “Well off” family in equestria that most foals would kill for.
But it means little to nothing for him doesn’t it?
He has lost EVERYTHING. One pony. But she was everything to him. Fine. Give him a new world. But to him… His only world has collapsed. Not a thing in equestria can soothe that kind of pain.
It’s so sad. It makes me sad. “I want to go home. I want mommy” and his broken expression. God I wish I could give him what he wants. But no mortal can do that. Not even luna or twilight.
This smol bat pone needs someone to sit next to him with a hoof on his shoulder and remind him that his world has not ended. He needs gentle reassurance. Very gently.

Silfoe said a while back that she had plans for what happened to his dad and she’d address this in the blog eventually.
I think Vulpa wanted to be a single mom.
