Shameless Discord fan!
Say what you will about this arc in the IDW comics, but I personally believe this moment is one of, if not the hardest it has ever gone, right beside Cosmos’ equivalent rebuttal to it.

Handwaving a character’s prior villainy as “it was another character’s fault” and completely wrecking their character development in the process has been a running theme in these comics since the very beginning. It’s a big part of why I dislike them and refuse to acknowledge them as canon.

OK, color me pleasantly surprised, they at least new how to approach a story about abuse. I’m still not a fan of how they kinda handwaved away Discords past villainy as “Oh it was all Cosmos’ fault” as that kinda stunts his growth as a character, nor am I a fan of how his actual abuse was kinda played for laughs throughout this whole thing, but they thankfully didn’t give Cosmos a redemption.
