When you say lego, you are referring to a set of individual kits under a banner name. When you go to a store to buy LEGO, you go to the LEGO section or you can go to the LEGO store or even LEGOland. No one asks for the LEGOs section. Now, if you see a structure or figure built outta LEGO, you would typically describe it as it being made of LEGO OR LEGO bricks. The singular and plural usage of LEGO is, therefore, situational.

But saying “LEGOs” is quicker and easier to say than “LEGO bricks”, so most people just refer to the LEGO bricks collectively as LEGOs.

But it is. Lego is one big collection and the individual pieces are called Lego Bricks. So it IS like water and water droplets.

YOUR “IMO” IS WORTH NOTHING. YOU WILL BOW TO THE TRUE MEANING OF LEGO.

I want to buy all the random city block sections because they’re amazing
But I also have to eat and pay rent
Truly, a horrible dilemma for these times.

imo Legos is better because Lego implies that it is one contiguous substance, like water. But it is actually made of many individual pieces, therefore warranting a plural. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
