I love how everypony is supposed to be swords, but fluttershy is a butterfly knife

It rock if Rainbow and Flurtershy use dao swords, those scimitars from China. One sword which fits Rarity be a jian since it’s the Gentleman of Weapons from China. It also rock if Rainbow and Flurtershy also use kukri knives as Gurkhas from Nepal do.

Rarity as an arabian sword, I can see a genie Rarity wielding it.

My personal sword would be the Executioner’s Great Sword
 

twilight sparkle needs to read a book on sword making, that blade has no room for the handle.

The ridiculously high quality medieval Viking sword. The technique required for that sword was 800 years ahead of most European sword forging at that time.

RD And Rarity need to switch, a cuped Rapier would suit Rarity so well.

also, rarity would work better as a katana seeing as how large amounts of grace, poise, and precision go into using one correctly (as well as katana being less blade-heavy.) rainbow dash as a rapier works well, but I’m fairly certain the handle of that one isn’t drawn correctly, and the guard’s design causes loss of structural integrity.
 
also, twilight would probably be this because she would go for whatever blade could cram as many uses into it as possible; assuming it would be the most efficient.

Pix3M, remember that Rapiers used to be practical.

fluttershy would be better served being a sai: a blade traditionally used mainly for parrying your opponent’s attacks, and often used more for self defense in lethal combat.

I am all for Rarity being a rapier. High class ponies for a high class sport, I suppose!

A Tanto or a Kaiken for Fluttershy would also work
