Okay, I don’t usually use the forum, mostly because I have rather anything to add to the varied topics here. But seriously guys, don’t scare me like this. I saw upon visiting the site that there was a new announcement, besides the ‘Pony with care’, with mentioned something crumbling and that big BREAKING NEW.
 
So, naturally I was like: Oh no, is something wrong with Derpibooru?! What’s happening here, are the servers and firmware at risk, has the development staff decided to quit?! Where I am to get my Pony Fix, I can’t think straight. Ponies, I need ponies, I need them or I’ll explode!!
 
But then I calmed myself and actually read …some of the post. Hey, I’m a guy, we’re not exactly known for reading the instructions first.
 
Also obliviously hopefully you guys know. Great site I really love it. I really do love seeing all the art, new stuff everyday too. You site staff, all the staff, thanks for this awesome place to come to and enjoy the world of pony. Thanks to you all the so talented artists.  
To any artists with self doubt: Remember that you posted your art for others to view and that takes guts, true courage. Don’t compare yourselves to others saying ‘but I’m not’ but rather by saying ‘I’d like to be, so I’ll work towards being’.
 
And again to the staff. Thanks for all your hard work. I hope you all know it’s appreciated.

Sorry if this message is confusing and long, but just thought I’d express my gratitude, rule 0: Be excellent to each other. And yes the BREAKING NEWS did worry me for a moment, it’s true.

Well, technically it was breaking because when I coded it, I seemingly missed a glitch where image hiding had a few compatibility issues with complex filters… And from what I heard, deleted someone’s complex filters in one instance… My bad…
 
But thanks to Arcaire and byte, that’s all fixed now!

Individual image post blocking? Frankly, that’s pretty great. There are some tags I don’t mind seeing but a few of them are so extreme, I had to think of multiple tags to block in my personal filters without blocking all the others.

How is this different from the hide filter that already exists?

Sorry id I overread this, but how does the hide feature exactly work? Is it linked to the current filter you use? Would I see my hidden images if I switch filters? Or is it linked to the account itself and affects all filters.

Most pointless feature ever, people will still downvote the pics and then hide them, or not use the new feature at all.

If you hide an image, it’s hidden for as long as you’re logged in, unless you click the “show hidden” button. It’s not affected by filters, even if you use the “everything” filter

I guess some people might do this. But I think a lot of people will use it properly.  
Also we still have both, so you can actually use both, because the users wanted it that way.

Ok.

I wasn’t a fan of doing away with the DV, but this is all fine and dandy. New functionality is never a bad thing though I made good use of the filter system already in place so not sure I’m the target for this.

Seems like a good feature.

Why this title

Non-obtrusive, easy to undo, neatly placed icon, does not forcefully merge itself with other features rendering them unusable, well done.  
I think there’ll be a need for a My Hidden search option though. (Ie. if I wanted to review or undo my hid stuff I could get them all easily on-screen.) You still lose track of the stuff you hide - if I want to Unhide everything I can’t do it. But don’t want to keep adding items to the already long drop-down menu.
 
So how about this:  
Hidden button on the right would rotate THREE settings instead of two:  
Hide Hidden  
Show Hidden  
Show Hidden ONLY

Since the search for “my:hidden” kinda derps out atm, that can be a good solution yeah. Though with three options instead of two a drop-down menu might be more user friendly.
