With what types of Sort ‘j’ and ‘k’ should work as expected - ‘k’ to the next image according to chosen Sort, ‘j’ - to the previous image according to chosen Sort? E.g. Wilson sort doesn’t work that way.

Everything except random and Wilson sort should work. (They don’t right now because it’s difficult to do any filtering based on the document score in elasticsearch.)

Also, when previous and next image links are calculated: in the moment I go to current image, the moment I press ‘j’ or ‘k’, or the moment I sort?

How sad, order by random is important

Image #1897194 isn’t showing it’s thumpnail

I seem to be unable to make a new thread on mobile in general discussion; keeps telling me to select an option. Anyone else having this problem?

Apparently polls are mandatory for creating new threads at the moment.

file_name seems to be returning random data.
 
Once an image has been on the site for more than a few minutes few hours (seems to be about 5), something is destroying the data in this field.
 
Was this intentional, or is it a bug?

Can you please provide an example? Random file I tested had a typical tumblr_ name.

Seems to happen shortly after they’re uploaded.
 
They start up with the right filename, but then it ends up like this
 
When that was first uploaded it was called “LostWallet.png”

Is this some kind of background optimizer?

The reason I even noticed it was I was thinking about making a bot that would go through images missing a source, and checking the uploaded filename to see if it matches a DeviantArt or FurAffinity or such filename, building a change-list to see if I can’t fix a few of these.

Uploaded filename is kind of meaningless. As for what clobbered it, I was trying to force a bunch of images to recreate their hashes and it turns out the code that sets hashes isn’t idempotent (!!!) and will just create some junk for file_name.

I do use that function, although it’s for a minor purpose. When I’m looking for a specific image file on my hard drive, I search for it on Derpibooru and then use the .json to find the file name and search for that on my PC XD

Do be aware it’s not guaranteed to be unique, although code I’m working on now will at least prevent it from changing when code is rerun.

I just use the file_name thing anyways. Like, if I wanted to find this on my hard drive I go to the .json page of it, the original file name is “KaliPlottingNextMove”, and search for that in file explorer so I don’t have to wade through about 6,000 files spread across about 12 folders to find it XD

My discord bot uses it as the “title” of an image embed (because it makes as much sense as anything), and also uses it to find possible sources to get more info.
 
Not that it breaks anything for me not having it, but it does reduce some functionality.

This is a big glitch but a small issue:
 
On the forum post searching page, the posts are retrieved in the same order when they are ascending and descending. Sorting by relevance instead of by creation date also does not seem to affect the results.

I’m not sure if this is the right place for this, but my duplicate report for >>1904420 and >>1899768 aeemes to either have bugged out or been ignored.  
It bothers me because I don’t like getting extra upvotes from dupes.
