I can agree to that. This is the first legit bad episode for me this season, despite there having been Starlight episodes before now.
 
Based on that alone, the season is a massive improvement over S6 and 7.

One of the names a commenter suggested was “Heaven Scent” and WE DIDN’T COCKING USE IT?! Heaven Scent is the best pony name I’ve ever heard in my entire life.

I kind of liked that one. Is that allowed, or is everyone just yelling this week?

C’mon, even as a Fluttershy fan, this was repetitive! At least with Fall Weather Friends and Buckball Season they learn something.
 
No, it’s just another competition episode between the two. Great.
 
Even with my idea that they split into two teams, you can make it so that while they’re working together, they eventually get overtaken by their own competitive nature and it would’ve been a little less dumb.
 
But…ugh.
 
Ok, as a plus, they did give time to make the students a little more developed.
 
But holy shit did it have to come at the expense of the development of two main characters?
 
Jeez you’re lucky it was Twilight lecturing you and not Starlight or this episode would’ve really hit the fan.
 

Is next week’s episode the H&H day episode? If it is, that’s probably one of the ones you shouldn’t miss of this season. SugarMac, Fluttercord, Sparity and every Sweetie Belle ship gets a reference. Discord disses waifuing. And MaudBrier shows up too. Hopefully the stream will be livelier next time.

seriously though, people are extremely bashing episodes that are just average this season
