She actually wasn’t softened up. She was already soft. Soft to a hilarious degree One of my fav little things about Cozy is that basically everyone could stop her. Quite easily, in physical terms. Cozy had to regambit on the fly when Neighsay showed up because what the hell else could she do. He could beat her with the “Place hoof on her head and keep her at foreleg’s distance away” trick.

That gives me an idea for a two parter, preferably the Season 9 finale. It would go as follows:  
Part 1 has Twilight & Co. trying to stop a powerful villain, only for them to get captured. Upon hearing about this, Celestia immediately decides to drop everything and go rescue Twilight. Luna wants to come with too, but Celestia demands that she [Luna] stays behind to tend to the kingdom and move the sun and moon should anything happen to her [Celestia]. Celestia get’s to where the villain and captured Main 6/7/8 are, defeats the villain and rescues Twilight and her friends, but as she had to use a lot of her power to defeat said villain, she loses control of herself in the process and becomes Daybreaker.
 
Part 2 would be Twilight & her friends, alongside Luna, Cadence & Shining Armor, the Royal Guard, and/or all of the other powerful ponies and other creatures they’ve befriended along the way fighting to defeat Daybreaker and to prevent Equestria (and the surrounding lands) from becoming a barren wasteland from an eternal day. In the end Daybreaker is eventually defeated and Princess Celestia is restored, a friendship lesson is learned, and everyone has a happy ending.

Dat sounds so good, But I would add a no return about Daybreaker powers, so after Daybreaker is defeated, Celestia has not more powers, so by default, Luna is the new ruler, but instead, She prefers to care a defenseless Celestia and gives all her magic to Twilight, so yes, Twilight would be the new Celestia and Luna and Starlight being the new school principal.

I’m not convinced by the idea of ​​a more powerful villain than the Mane 6 defeated in a single episode

The main reason I’ve chosen the ending that I did, is because this is a kids show aimed at girls made by a toy company, and I doubt Hasbro would want anything less than a happy ending for their finale of the show.
 
Another thing I’ve thought of would be in the climax of Part 1, the villain retreats further into their lair, right as Luna shows up to help Celestia. Celestia very sharply tells Luna to go free Twilight and her friends, and that she’ll “take care of the villain on her own”. The episode would then follow Luna rescuing Twilight and her friends, and then Twilight goes off of to find Celestia, only for Daybreaker to make her dramatic reveal, possibly standing amongst a large amount of ash (without the first villain in sight).

Well, the episode idea does entirely hing on the fact that Celestia would be obscenely powerful, but would wind-up becoming Daybreaker as a result.

They’re alright nowadays, I actually think they’ve been in a bit of an uptick lately. They aren’t amazing but they’ve been through worse
 
Then again I don’t think the comics started off that great either like some people say they did.
 
||That said, I will say, at the very least the Wonderbolts in the comics beats the shit out of the ones in the show, and are everything they should be in the show ||

Nightmare Rarity, Rarity, Big Mac, Celestia, Ponyacci and the CMC’s solo issues were very good. The rest varies from irregular to absolutely undefendable I’m afraid.  
Pencil’s issues have been good but not spectacular, but for what’s worth they were the first issues I’ve purchased on years.
