Well Ace and Hag actually are connected by how they both relied on luck in their backstory. Ace took luck turning on him in stride while Hag/Lisa went off the deep end when luck turned on her big.
But otherwise yeah their powersets do make them oddly more reliant on the basement than most survivors/killers.

The swamp in Witcher 1 dragged on forever and the ending was convoluted nonsense. It was a great game besides those parts. I found it very immersive.

Seeing as the tutorial gives a romance card, explains that Geralt has amnesia, and is the start of the story and motives of the character, I’m pretty sure it was in the game from the start. Play it and you’ll see what I mean. Also, the wiki has a “checklist” of things to do in each level if that interest you.
