Ealier (around the premiere) they blocked worldwide on YouTube clips from the movie (except trailers, promos) and it’s more less like here with gifs/webms. But Hasbro also blocks from time to time.  
You never know but they also have rights so in worst case scenario it might happen.

I’m not entirely sure if Lionsgate has the right to C&D this site. As far as I know, they only own the right to distribute this movie. But I’m not a lawyer, so i’m not sure.

If there are animations from the movie from before the rule there’s two options:  

I’m a little confused about this rule. The movie has already been released, as in there are physical copies available. More to the point, there are animations from the movie on here already that predate this rule.

Ah, okay. Yeah, I’m not too sure there would be stuff cut for time (at least not in a Canadian airing like for Equestria Girls,) but I don’t know about content they might deem “unsafe” for television (probably unlikely.)

That’s actually an interesting question. I doubt anything will be cut, but if it is, I think we’d still allow animations from the DVD version.

Wait. Are you .. seriously .. asking if it’s ok to post camrips contingent on scenes not being present in the TV version or something like that?

If you have a source for the screen cap, please provide it. But it is no longer required to prove that the screen cap isn’t from a leak or any other illegal source.

They’re screencaps, so yes. Only camrips and animations arent allowed atm.

So will the screencaps on the MLP wiki be allowed, too?

As a common courtesy to people who don’t want to have to filter it to avoid the flood, even if they like the movie.

Same reason we were careful about allowing screencaps at all: Lionsgate has a big suing hammer and we all look like nails. Screencaps from their released DVD is one thing, but whole clips is another entirely. Particularly now that we have Webms.

I’m confused, Why are we waiting for a TV release to allow animated screen caps?

Does this included edited screencaps as well, or is it only just normal screencaps?

Ekhm, you know that filters exist.

Movie screencaps are now allowed. No animations from the movie and nothing from cam rips; animations will follow normal length/sound rules following its release on US television.
 
Please go easy on the uploads so that normal artwork doesn’t get buried in movie screencaps.
 
We do not yet know when it will come to TV.
