This is going to happen for multiple reasons.  
Some people downvote out of spite, some even for the whole debate I mentioned still downvote simply cause the mods even considered something like removing the button.  
Some people will follow an artist just to downvote their work. This is the same thing that happens on big websites like YouTube. It also is something that happens fairly often on FIMFiction.  
Some people downvote just cause an image is “too liked” or “has no dislikes”

It’s that little eye with a / through it you see along with the other things like Favorite, Upvote, Downvote, and Comment.  
It’s the last option. You click on it, then refresh the page, and the image will no longer be visible to you.

The dislike button is NOT going to be removed.  
I already told you in that thread you made, this was heavily discussed by lots of mods, some admins, and the community 2 years ago. and I mean HEAVILY discussed.
 
The discussion lasted for the better part of a month, possibly 2 months if I remember correctly.  
The HIDE button was introduced instead.

This was discussed HEAVILY those two years ago.

This was already a discussion that happened 2 years ago.  
The button was kept.
 
The “hide” button was added instead.  
You can literally find evidence of this by searching oc:downvote and going back far enough.  
You’ll find images where people were up and arms about “Downvote” being removed.

Is there any update on Derpibooru fixing itself?

Holy crap. What the hell did you guys do?  
Everything is breaking one by one.

The site is entirely broken right now.  
It’s broken to the point where I’ve been logged out multiple times, and one time when coming to check the forum  
It wrongly told me  
“You have been banned: reason - ban evasion” from some mod I’ve never even heard of.

Most of FIM’s writers stopped being consistent after like Season 4, and both Keating Rogers, and M.A. Larson (two of the more notable writers for FIM) quit after Season 5, with excerpts of a script from Larson being used in Season 7.
 
It could go for a while, but it’d be just like FIM where writers stopped being consistent after a while.

Might have been better than Rainbow Roadtrip.  
Definitely wasn’t better than the one with Tempest Shadow.

Since I’m not as big a fan of any name on here as the one I suggested, I’m also pulling for Sunflower Spectacle. As after consideration, that’s not a bad name at all.

Still feel “Spectacle Showcase” sounds more appealing than “Showcase Spectacle”
 
It literally feels like I’m pronouncing her name backwards with “Showcase Spectacle”

I was the one who said Spectacle Showcase, Darth Shy.  
For some reason my post doesn’t seem to be here anymore or I’m constantly over looking it.  
If someone could show me it that’d be great.  
But that was my suggestion was Spectacle Showcase.
 
And it’s cause she was referred to as “Spectacle” or “Showcase” in some cases.
 
So I thought combining the two names was perfect, thus Spectacle Showcase.

Trixie’s mom is known as Spectacle or Showcase at times.
 
I decree, Spectacle Showcase.
 
I also just personally think Dandy Lion is entirely uncreative.

Also, on a random note, I was playing around with the username changer.  
I think there’s hardcoding to prevent you from using certain usernames lol

What’s with the new site design? It’s kinda bleh, and the button layout is really confusing…

They were saying, that only asskissing(a.k.a. positive feedback) is encouraged.  
Removing downvotes is honestly a bad thing, cause of a number of reasons.
