… Yeah, like no one ever had to be banned from the site for endlessly complaining about ships in G4, or trolling people who liked individual characters, and we never had ANYONE throw a LITERAL CHAIR at a writer during a convention in G4 because of ‘wings’.

That NEVER happened in G4. Nope. Just pure endless harmony and uniform love!

Why or how have you gotten any impression that I am not a fan of Generation Five? How the hell would you even make an assumption like that?

Okay, people who don’t like G5 are doing that. Here, an example.

Perfectly wholesome G5 imagery. Comment goes “Sorry G5 fans, characters look stupid and it’s over”. No source, no evidence, just speculation and random hate. This never happens with G4 now, does it?

Also I never really understand the “G5 fans shouldn’t do the same with G4” thing because that is not happening. No one is going to a G4 image and goes “Pfft, G5 does better” but everyone goes to G5 images and screencaps and goes “This is why G5 is failing”, “G5 is cancelled” etc. Anything to twist the narrative of G5 being objectively bad instead of subjectively is annoying.

I agree with this view, but in the case of G5 if we really only had TYT until 2025 with the entire MYM story line transferred to the 5 minute web show and then it was over, at the very least I think it would mean that they originally planned more things but gave up.

g4 is the most popular generation ever, reaching more than a billion in sales, Hasbro simply decided to stretch it, if g5 ends in 2025 it will have lasted 4 years which is a reasonable number for generations of franchises like MLP

I like that those who use this criticism conflate MYM as representing all of G5, conveniently ignoring TYT, the comics, the toyline and the upcoming video game

MLP is one of Hasbro’s biggest money makers, i highly doubt that they’d cancell their current generation right out of the blue with no explanation or statemeant

Especially since that media board thing already said they had plans for G5 up till at least 2025

That does not mean Hasbro has cancelled it, and not everything has to be like G4. We’re so stuck in the past we can never accept change.

But not everyone likes Tell Your Tale, and it’s weird to have G5 end so shorter than G4.

Unrelated to the stuff being talked about right now but I’m about sick and tired of people going “Hasbro has cancelled G5 because it’s obviously not doing well” with absolutely zero citation. Like people know something doesn’t need a million seasons to have an end right? How hard is it to accept that things can just end?

The alleged victims have had the op/accuser blocked for years, at least one because they kept harassing them. Naming them, and posting private messages and other information, was almost certainly done out of spite to blow up their lives after they got in the way of their little “righteous” crusade.

Maybe the alleged victim whose life was just turned upside down because some cloutchasing twitterite decide to leak her and another’s private messages out of context and put words in their mouth to concoct a narrative that paints them as a hero.

This shit plays out every other month, some gen z wannabe hero makes up a story founded on “bad feels” and little else to target some well known creator and get their 15 minutes of fame, destroying several lives in the process as the ravenous psychopathic piranhas on twitter circlejerk over seeing someone with a bigger name than them get torn down.

There’s nothing people love more than seeing others suffer, and the cathartic mirth of publicly gloating “hah, I was better than them all along!”
