Scar was a very cunning and charming character with plenty of development and depth. Blueblood, not so much… He was just a typical Canterlot snob and any one of those snooty gala attending stallions could have played his part the way he did it. And that is where the problem lies. There was nothing truly defining about him, as opposed to a well-rounded character. He was no more than an archetype for a rich douchebag. Until now the only reason for him to even be a prince is to lay it on extra thick how looks and status can be deceiving. After all, modern kids have been spoonfed with the idea that handsome princes are always great guys. What a twist!
There may be more to him, but we never see it. In fact, we never see or hear from him again. As it stands, we have this uncharismatic shell of a character, that is utterly useless until further notice.
