How do you know when to use tags like these?

https://derpibooru.org/tags/christmas
https://derpibooru.org/tags/hearth%2527s+warming
https://derpibooru.org/tags/hearth%2527s+warming+eve
https://derpibooru.org/tags/christmas%2Btree
https://derpibooru.org/tags/hearth%2527s+warming+tree
https://derpibooru.org/tags/christmas+lights
https://derpibooru.org/tags/hearth%2527s+warming+lights

I’m sure that if there is writing, Santa, Santa costumes, regular raindeer or episode stills/recreations inside the images, that makes it more obvious.

In regards to the first, there isn’t one from what I can see. The closest tags you have are these two:

https://derpibooru.org/tags/flour+pie
https://derpibooru.org/tags/covered+pony

There is a tag for the Cake’s house. However, it only contains one image:

https://derpibooru.org/tags/cakes+house

Isn’t their home usually interpreted as being Sugarcube Corner? That’s what it appears to be in “ Baby Cakes.

Here’s another enquiry. This one concerns the pony tag.

The detailed description for said tag includes this line:

A four legged animal and main race of the show. Not to be tagged on characters drawn as Anthro or Semi-anthro images.

What confuses me is this. I have seen many images with the anthro tag. Usually, if the images just involve ponies, only the anthro tag is used. However, sometimes, if another anthro creature is present, the tag for that creature is also there.

Example: zebra, anthro

It appears that other anthropomorphic creatures can have their exact species mentioned while ponies cannot. Sometimes, not even their subspecies (unicorn, pegasus, earth pony, alicorn ). This doesn’t seem right. Besides, even before I started tagging, I saw lots of art with both the anthro and pony tags together; even if there were no other anthro creatures present.

Did the uploaders of these images do something wrong and I only contributed to this mess, or did the detailed description for the pony tag just give me, and others, the wrong idea?

@Derpy Whooves

I was referring to the last two in the message.

At present, the tag is typed out as h.r. pufnstuf. I admit that I typed it out wrong in my post. Also, that is how it is spelled out on the Wikipedia page for the show and the title character. I’m sorry for causing that alias trouble.
Lastly, regarding fanfic:the lost element, do fanfic tags usually have aliases like that?

In regards to the first one, I noticed that you were having trouble with aliases, so I hope that helps.

Also, like I said, as it says on the Wikipedia page, what Witchiepoo flies is called the vroom broom, not the broombroom, making the alias you made, much like the original tag, incorrect.

Default search

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
