It’s interesting to me the flavors that grain can add to beer depending on the variety and how they are roasted. Brown ales have a nutty flavor with a little caramel from medium roasted barley, almost like liquid walnut with Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown ale. Porters and stouts are brewed with very dark roasted barley and have notes of coffee and chocolate. Wheat in wheat ale adds a banana flavor. Rye is uncommon in beer so I can’t speak to that, but the one rye beer I’ve tasted had a kind of earthy spice to it. Oats in oatmeal stout add a nutty flavor with a nice creamy texture.

Whiskey? Blech. I need to drown that in cola to tolerate it. I can’t drink it straight

Tropical Hurricane for me. It’s a bar-only drink I think. Whiskey, vodka, rum and pineapple mixed in a glass with a cherry on top.

Apparently it may have saved civilization during plague times too. Because the disease was in large part spread through contaminated water, and people found that beer and other fermented beverages didn’t spread it due to the purification of boiling the wort (pre-ferment brew) and the disinfecting properties of its alcohol.

Yes there is such a thing as alcohol allergy. I sure as hell don’t have that condition lol.

Not sure about that. but if you can get buzzed off of a sip of wine you may want to take it really easy. I would talk with a medical professional about it first lest you get really sick.

Yes, to see if you can handle alcohol. Some people are quite sensitive to it.

Meanwhile in Germany, beer is literally drank with meals just like people in the US drink coke with a hamburger. Beer isn’t something for simply getting drunk, it’s a very important part of German heritage. Still, to those who are not accustomed, please take it easy!

Oh… 0_0 umm maybe you should have only a 12 oz can then, if that, of a mild beer of about 4%. Meanwhile I can drink a 6 pack of strong veer and still be able to do chores. I’m part German, btw so…

I don’t want to drink alcohol everyday, I want to only drink on special occasions.

If you’re not accustomed to alcohol I would recommend taking it really slow. Yeah Mike’s hard lemonade might be a good choice. Other “alcopops’ might be good too such as Smirnoff Ice or other malt beverages. Whatever you do, DON”T OVERDO IT. Not only do you risk getting quite sick but you could become addicted.

I swear something kinda relevant was on some show. Family Guy? South Park? They gave some character like a sip of actual booze then switched his drink with fruit juice yet he continued to get drunker. Or placebo effected or something lol.
