Mmm, Bennies, pink berries… I used to eat that stuff like candy. Still keep it around for emergencies, in lieu of an EpiPen.

Now I “dual-use” hydroxyzine, for allergies AND knocking me out (but only very occasionally). That stuff is second only to Seroquel, an antipsychotic, in terms of “messes with your mind hardcore, but is really great for allergies”. LoL

Then there’s the Adderall XR, which is for AD(H)D, but also seems to be good for allergies and offsetting the sedative effects of the antihistamines.

I’m a damn mess. 🤣

IRL I pop Benadryl on the regular. So BigBug and I would look like pill-popping dope fiends if Vegas has a high pollen count.

Nurses are supposed to be patient advocates. Unfortunately, I’ve been hearing stories of nurses who fail horribly in this regard. Yours is just one more to file.

Thanks! I tell ya what, my orthopedic surgeon is actually a really cool guy, and he did a fine job fixing the other shoulder a few years ago. I’ve been extremely fortunate, as my Mom is an RN in an outpatient surgery facility, so whenever I’ve needed a specialist/surgeon, I can ask her for recommendations.

My primary care physician, on the other hoof…it’s not actually him I dread seeing, it’s his office staff. His nurses take incorrect notes, ‘forget’ to tell the doctor very important things, and generally make my appointments stressful. You just know something is seriously amiss when you are prescribed a medication, feel suicidal from it, call to tell the staff, and you get told to take a double dose.

I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling with these physical ailments. But I’m glad to hear you have a plan and a path to recovery. And let’s face it, less pain to allow for sleep is good too!

From what I’ve observed over the past three months, I don’t think even my magnificent Coca-Kudzu Taters™ could save the Russian army from defeat. Although I did get a good chuckle out of the idea of distilling them into fuel for their vehicles. I can see them having fights over what to do: get drunk, or fuel up and retreat. Why not both, right? Oh, but if they start snorting the dried mash, all bets are off.

I could’ve really used Medi-Bat these past few days. I’ve been having trouble with my left shoulder for many months, if not more than a year now. Pretty sure it’s because I’ve had diabetes since the Chernobyl accident (total coincidence, I swear!), because I went through this with my right shoulder about six years ago…? Bottom line is that its range of motion is restricted, and it is painful as HELL: sometimes when moving it near those ends of the ranges of movement, sometimes constantly no matter what. High blood sugar makes it hurt much worse.

This past Monday, I finally got to see my orthopedic surgeon, same guy who took care of my right shoulder. He thinks it might just be an impingement, instead of ‘full-blown’ adhesive capsulitis. But for now, the treatment is the same: he gave me a cortisone shot, right into the capsule, there in the office, and I have to follow up with TheraBand exercises and pulley workouts – basically it’s physical therapy to get the joint and muscles around it working again, and the cortisone is there to reduce the inflammation & swelling, so that exercise can actually accomplish the goal.

Of course, the major side-effect of a cortisone shot on a diabetic is dramatically increased blood sugar level for a few days. I think it was in the 300-400 [mg/dL] range, though Tuesday, and just in the past maybe dozen hours it’s been back to normal. Didn’t really sleep much, kinda took naps out on the couch until last night, and when I say “last night” I mean 5:00 AM to about 11:00 PM. I think that was the first time I’ve slept without my left shoulder waking me up in pain, in many months. Still feeling like I fell down a few flights of stairs, the effect of prolonged high blood sugar, but I’m getting back to normal.

Poor Medi, she’d have taken a few sips, and either a) gotten a helluva sugar rush, or b) had the same reaction as when you dump way too much sugar in with your Kool-Aid. It’s a cute reaction, in my head. LoL

Whoo! I do like motorcycles. My grandfather used to take me on bike trips, the last one we did was a few years ago and we went across America sightseeing. It was neat!

Say, as long as we’re dreaming and wishing for Frankenstein-style plants, how about putting these together:

TBH, in terms of “pharmacological effects,” it’s still hard for me to understand why marijuana is legal (here in the Love Glove), but cocaine, even in small amounts, is not. Completely bass ackwards IMO.

EDIT: I think the greatest part of the above plant combo would be that you could end up with a product very much like, and actually is, instant mashed potatoes. But you could also snort it for a quick hit! :D
