Ok, dude, dial it down a notch there, I am not saying that it should happen, nor that it is right. But this might be the road that we might end up going down to. It’s not like the US has never walked back on one of it’s principles, they rescinded Free Speech back in WW1.
 
A solution that I’d execute is the complete and absolute destruction of the brands of Islam that ISIS preach, to make it clear to any would-be extremists that they are alone, and their acts will be in vain, but that is very pie-in-the-sky, and doesn’t seem very practical in real life because not only it’s incredibly hard to kill an idea, but the last time the US played cowboy in the Middle East did not end up well.

From what I’ve seen, pro-gun people are mostly defensive just because they fear their guns might get taken away and coming up with a stupid excuse along the lines how so-and-so event could be stopped, or how they need protection.

Here’s the thing, the moderate Muslims have no power in America to stop the radical motherfuckers, not unless they team up with the rest of us to demolish Mosques preaching shit like “killing gay people is a mercy for them”. The extremists are such a minority that there is no actual social power that can be exerted towards them, all you can do is root them out and arrest them before they commit their crimes.
 
HOW you do that, however, is where we get into some murky waters. People shit on Donald Trump for wanting to create a registry for Muslims, but quite frankly is, how do you tackle this issue without getting downright Orwellian? It’s really fucking complicated, and I think shit will get really dark before it’s ove.

They do actually speak out against this sort of thing, but it’s always ignored by the media and just about everybody. I’ve heard plenty of muslims say things like “this isn’t Islam” and “we condemn violence”. Not just individually but from crowds of them.

If everybody had a gun with them in that bar, what would be the possibilities of there being a mass shootout with guns blazing everywhere? A better question would be “how many more would have died?” And to answer that question, probably a lot more. There would have been a lot more injuries and perhaps more deaths if every cowboy packing heat started firing at whoever he thought was the bad guy and the police would have spent twice as much time and effort trying to figure out who shot who.
 
I’m sorry, but solving gun problems with more guns is not the answer.
