Hey, me again back on my bullshit because this one is baffling personally. With >>2213561 and >>2213563, how the FUCK do these not violate Rule #5, especially since with the first one, the description states “…With the changes Luna and Twilgiht have made the nerdy Foalphiles around Equestria can now take in little toys who’s parents don’t meet the new standards of the new order…” meaning that they are minors. They even look like them and, while I know that to Staff this doesn’t matter, is tagged as “cub” and “foal” on the original post on Inkbunny. I guess I’m getting really upset over this one because I’ve seen images of characters aged up get removed because of looking young, yet these two images get to stay up even when they’re substantially worse offenders.

Dude, you’re posing about an image that was deleted years ago.  
Don’t use this thread to try and dredge up every rule 5 deletion for individual review.

This image got deleted for rule #5 but when I looked at the original image on deviant art there wasn’t any nudity and all though it is suggestive a woman having a child underneath their breasts during hug is actually a normal thing that happens in the real world. Trust me I’ve had it happen to me when I was little and it never really bothered me. And spike doesn’t seem bothered in this image either. So why did it get deleted when ever it’s actually okay to do this in the real world?

Mu apologies. I thought you were talking about the Spike issues that @Undead dragon soldier brought up, which only involved one image.

I mean, that’s not really what this thread was about, more as that it seems that some images that are anthro foalcon will be let by, while others won’t, which the trend tends to be seen with Spike since he already shows anthro tendencies and is underaged in the show.

The issue with that is we’re then trying to focus on small specific details of images, and not the image as a whole.  
And such a focus has been a problem in the past.
 
Rule 5 did not used to be as strict as it was. Things used to be allowable is they were deemed anthro “enough” to pass as not being human at all.
 
But, artists and uploaders kept trying to push the boundaries. And staff spent a lot of time trying to determine if specific images were anthro “enough” to be an issue. Looking at the hands, feet, shape of muzzle, etc. So much time in fact, that we were spending more time on that than other moderation duties.
 
Here is a post by TSP when the stricter Rule 5 was set.
 
So if we try to go the same route with Spike images, “Does he have claws? Are his shoulders humanoid?” We’ll just be getting bogged down in the details again.
 
Right now we try to keep it a simple: “Does spike look too human overall”? It’s not perfect. But it gets the job down without us spending an inordinate amount of time on every Spike image.

As far as I can see, only one image that is “Spike,Smolder,explicit” has ever been deleted for Rule #5. One image doesn’t seem like such a problem that’s worth re-writing rules. I’m not saying Rule #5 is fine as it is, but this current hoopla is over just one image.

We aren’t now, and never have been, going off of “one person’s assessment”. We might have a dozen or more staff members looking at some of these before a decision is made. Sometimes we all agree, sometimes we don’t all agree. But it’s never ever one person’s call, unless that one person is the person who is legally responsible for the site and is the one whose door the police will be knocking on.

I mean, the whole thing with Smoulder is also dubious, so much of porn with the Young 6 not having a “foalcon” tag since it isn’t clear what age group they’re a part of. It’d kind of be nice if site staff decided the default tags for them, if they haven’t already. Also, after talking with an artist, I realized an issue with the system being this subjective, which is that body types that adults can have can be flagged as under aged and taken down, especially if the person they’re with is larger than them. Just, it’s frustrating that rather than look at the track record of artists, the places they have uploaded it, and the tags they have used for it, staff would rather just go off of one person’s assessment on one image, which depending on the person, can be incredibly biased.

That would take a massive amount of time. As well as entirely defeat the purpose of us removing the images in the first place: Us not being safe hosting them.
 
If we think an image isn’t safe to host, putting it up in the forums for days would not be in our best interests.
 
And what do you mean by “Just keep it like it is.” ? Doing what we’re already doing without changing anything?

We’ve stated elsewhere when this topic comes up. Yes, Spike [and Smoulder] are a large head-ache where rule 5 is concerned.  
Yes. Spike is a Dragon. The problem is he’s a dragon who walks on two legs and can range from “really human like” to “basically show accurate” depending on each artist’s individual styles.
 
Examples being:  

 
So for Sexual content involving Spike we unfortunately have a level of subjectivity. Essentially: “Is this too human looking?”
 
You could make the argument that it’s easier to just ban all Spike content that’s sexual in nature. But we’d rather keep what art we can so we remove what we feel is too far over the line.
 
Yes it’s subjective and inaccurate when Spike is involved. But that’s just the way it is.  
We can allow it all and risk legal action.  
We can ban it all and have none of the artwork.  
Or we can leave what we feel is safest and only remove what we believe is legally dubious.
 
We know it’s annoying when an image is deleted when you think it should be ok. And in many cases you can come by Discord #Support and talk to us about it and ask why we thought it had to be removed.
 
We’re sorry it’s an annoyance, but it’s what we must do to stay on the safe side.

Okay then a majority of the site.

Smolder+Explicit+Foalcon = 126 images.  
Spike+Explicit+Foalcon = 2619 images, and only 760 of those weren’t grandfathered in from before the “September” change.
 
So, 886 images. That’s only 6% of the Explicit+Foalcon images.
 
When did 886 become “literally half” of 1,936,894?
