For the images such as >>1765265, >>1599301 (deleted), >>1583981, does it make sense to tag as “cutie mark only”? After tagging them , looking at the rest of the other pics tagged doesn’t seem to “fit” with these ones.
Edit: Also tagged >>1409395 and other “3D’ed” cutie marks as such, but not sure if that’s right.

I owe the community an apology.
I don’t know what came over me, but I just went nuts uploading images that day and only looking at if they were already uploaded, the artist was DNP, and the tags. I didn’t check the sourcing as well as would have been ideal.
Is this what I should do? I hope the posters here can forgive me.

We do owe it to the people who make the art to direct attention to their sites or accounts, yeah.
If that collage exists on the artist’s DA account, I say change the source to link to that. Otherwise, hmm… perhaps link to their DA gallery in general?

By the current definition, yes, tho it bothers me personally as there is no easy way to syntax out fanmade stuff in a search for screencaps without knowing the name of every fanwork and hiding it.

I also agree. I can’t tell you how many times I searched for official screenshots of some characters, only to find pictures from fan videos. It’s kinda annoying.

This is obviously the correct opinion; can y’all do your mod IRC thing and get that all on the same page so whoever draws the short straw can change the tag description and drop screencap from everything that isn’t an official MLP/EqG screencap? It looks like it’s been a while since anyone did the thing where they tag fan animations with it anyway.
