I doubt you have read even just one of the “Rotten” reviews. I read every single one and all of them reek of bias. Not a single one of those reviewers was able to look past their pony prejudgement.
@Shelltoon
Interesting fact that the idea for the Lego movie wasn’t lego’s in fact lego wasn’t even interested in making the movie until they heard the pitch
Emphasized or not, it’s biased crap from critics who just abuse their status to decrease the Tomatometer for a movie they hate, without even actually going into the matter of the movie.
Most of the RT critics are a bunch of stuck-up, biased assholes who heard “My Little Pony” and instantly jumped to “Yeah, bad!”. That is what they are.
They didn’t even get the simplest plot details right, giving away that they haven’t even really watched the movie and that they definitely did not care about reviewing it.
Nothing more than mouthpieces to express their hatred for My Little Pony. Those negative reviews have zero credibility.
@Hebbocake
You pretty much just reiterated what I said. Non-fans are going to have a hard time with the MLP movie, simply because it’s a barebones film. It’s rather basic.
Like, I saw blade runner yesterday, and I liked it, but for 2h30 long movie its really slow paced and you HAVE to like the Sci Fi/Themes in it to like it.
There’s more action in the MLP movie than in blade runner, that should tell you.
@Hebbocake
As a fan, I loved the movie. It’s certainly not the best, but for what it is, it’s a solid movie if you’re a fan of the brand. Non-fans… it’s kind of a hard sell.
Unlikely they will see it as such, considering how the Lego Movie popularly features the Lego stones and figures as movie characters.
The My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Movie has a lot of stuff that works independently from the toys. If you would not know there are toys based on it, you would not guess that it has a toyline.
It looks different with the Lego Movie, though.
No, the reason why they will snub it is “Because it’s My Little Pony”. They will simply say they didn’t nominate it because they don’t think it’s good enough and that’s it. And the reason will be anti-My Little Pony bias, because they are still stuck with their mind in the early generations, like those RT critics are.
@Joshua
Unfortunately, the academy is likely not to nominate it due to some bullshit about “integrity,” it’s why people were furious when The Lego Movie wasn’t nominated. They will snub the movie, because “we cannot acknowledge a glorified 90 minute toy ad!”
Given the movie’s beautiful animation, catchy songs and likable characters who are voiced by talented actors and actresses… Yeah, I’d say it’s pretty Oscar worthy.

Maybe you should try wording it that it’s your opinion, then~
I don’t know about you, but
Makes it sound like you’re stating a fact. Just saying, man.
It’s called an opinion. I was expressing how I was semi-agreeing with the RT score.^^
I didn’t know it was up you to decide if the movie was good or not. You may think it wasn’t, but others do.
I did read them and saw some that weren’t biased.

Most because not all the critics there are what you describe. The movie really isn,t that good, though. shrug

Not really, it’s just bland.

You really need to be a fan. Because otherwise it is pretty startingly bad.
As a fan, I loved the movie. It’s certainly not the best, but for what it is, it’s a solid movie if you’re a fan of the brand. Non-fans… it’s kind of a hard sell.
Eh, most RT critics are fairly accurate. The movie really isn’t as good as bronies like to think. Most is emphasized here.
Unlikely they will see it as such, considering how the Lego Movie popularly features the Lego stones and figures as movie characters.
