Okay, that’s what it sounded like. I was curious about your comment so I looked up “Aladdin racist.” Are you referring to the casting controversy in which an Indian British actress was casted as Jasmine, rather than a Middle Eastern one?

Yes, and also the fact that even in the Animated version Aladdin and Jasmine looked more like Indians than Actual Arabians

Also, semi-related semi-unpopular opinion: I’m never watching the new Aladdin ever because I’m sick and tired of remakes and it didn’t look interesting in the slightest. I know this opinion is popular in some circles, but there’s a reason that Disney keeps making this shit. It’s because people eat it up anyways.

To an extent. If a whole lot of people are telling you you’re a crappy person, you may want to fix that. However, if you are attacked by mindless trolls who just want to get a rise out of you, then it’s perfectly reasonable to ignore them.
 
If your favorite movie/show/album is being attacked, just don’t say anything.

Any system that is only based on the language being used when saying something, as opposed to the content of what is actually being said, is a system that is doomed for failure.

Alright, here’s a real life example:
 
On some websites whose names will remain undisclosed, there are some people who advocate for Nazism. Genocide, white supremacy, all that. There are other people who will tell them to “fuck off.” That’s when the bot kicks in and bans the other person for swearing.
 
How does that make any sense? It’s a system based on the language being used when saying something, rather than what’s actually being said, and therefore is a platform that is open to breeding hatred.
 
(Perhaps kind of an extreme example, but you get the idea.)
