Seriously you alt-Left motherf’ers are offended by everything in 2017. Grow tf up!!! If I post something and someone gets offended by it, that reaction just makes me want to post more of it. ;)

We released a feature that allows per-image hiding. The community’s reaction appears to mostly range from positive to indifferent about this change.
@Joey
Problem is, right now you can’t: searching “my:hidden” will give you nothing, so the button “show hidden” doesn’t appear (ironically enough), you need to manually add “&hidden=1” in the url to make them appear. For now people can look for their hidden with this link.

Maybe it’s something that appears in a search you use often, or maybe it’s a particular image in your watchlist that you don’t want to see. I know I’ve specifically gone into my watchlist filter or complex filter to remove specific images in the past.
It’s for those edge cases where someone doesn’t want to see a particular image, but none of the tags on the image really cover what they want to hide or would have too much collateral effect. Up to now we’ve encouraged people to add individual image IDs to their complex filters, but it’s always been acknowledged that was a cumbersome and unintuitive method. This simplifies the process to a single click.

That makes sense; there are some images I’m subscribed to that I have blocked with ABP because they get a lot of comments and I don’t want to burn my data limit downloading a huge file of Humanized Rainbow Dash shreddin’ on a guitar ten times a day just to see yet another poster hasn’t bothered to read the comments to see that yes, her fingers are in fact moving enough to hit different chords.
Mods can see much of the data. Who faves/upvotes/downvotes/hides images. But for the same reason we don’t like who upvotes/downvotes, we’re not going to show who hides.
User Upvotes are hidden because those serve as a private “fave”. You can upvote things without worrying that other people will see you upvoted it.
User Downvotes are hidden because that can just lead to bad things all around. People stalking other people’s downvotes, getting angry at them over it, etc.
Hidden is the same way. There’s no reason users would need to see who hid an image.
