And now you reach one of the massive issues in the site and this plan: if TSP demands something it will happen or else the image will vanish. Or TSP appoints Joey or a different yes-man to simply roll over and not resist the deletion of materials he does not agree with.
 
I will give the mod team the benefit of the doubt having preserved the site against TSP’s ‘nuke it from orbit’ ultimatum, but nobody stood up to him when he marked users with the ‘kick me’ mystery badges.
 
Nobody is unbiased, and to suggest so would be folly, and past actions show behavior that dubious judgement (and that’s as nicely as I can very charitably call it).

But seriously, the mod chat leaks have shown a small cadre of friends who generally get along with each other, the only breaks happened in response to recent events and those people were exiled or quit rather than deal with the stress of remaining in the channel. I highly doubt that one person would be allowed to exist in opposition to such a group, especially when they hold the powers to override / demod that person at any time.
 
This is assuming that such a person would be allowed to do so in the first place. Either way, such a person would not engender much support for their cause as I’d assume internal mod voting would be the method used to solve the question of keep / delete.

It would be a great test of wills, but if they really want to be “democratic” they would listen to an oppositions perspective and take it into account.  
But yes, one voice against many would still not a fair vote system make, but that would be asking far too much.

@Iamunknown you know what is really funny? A quick run through of users I knew as actually ‘nazis’ showed none with “mystery badges,” though half did have ducks.  
So, apparently there truly are things ‘worse than nazis,’ at least in the administration’s opinion.

I think the problem we’re seeing is that none of the people with power and responsibility have ever had those things in real life and have no idea how to handle them. Any competent manager would have put a halt to random mods spouting off on their own as soon as everything caught fire, but instead those managers are pouring buckets of gasoline onto it and saying “Why would I apologize!?”. And where is TSP? If he wants to slap his dick on the table like he runs the place and scream at everyone to do what he wants, he needs to actually be running the place, but he’s completely absent.
