Anyways, a totally insane headcanon with no basis in anything beyond my drunken hallucinations, we have seen Scootaloo’s mother before on the show. She’s dramatic music sting Derpy! Derpy is also her father. Its complicated and involves magical radiation and a hilarious Tardis accident.

More Headcanon Totally Unrelated To Preexisting Conversation™!
- The reason we saw a filly Derpy in “The Cutie Pox” was due to a mix-up with the TARDIS that saw The Doctor and Companion Minuette meet previous Companion Derpy far in the past and accidentally transport her with them to the present… which broke her brain but led her to seek out the Doctor and join him as his Companion once the Master banished him to Equestria, which turned him into a Pony.
- Doctor/Derpy is a thing because 1) He’s not Gallifreyan here, and 2) Derpy’s unintentional exposure to the Universe (and the Heart of the TARDIS) at such a young age rendered her able to understand things in a way no regular pony possibly could… though the shock also left her cockeyed (see above).
- Minuette hates being compared to toothpaste, and never wanted to be a dentist.
- Minuette’s cutie mark comes from witnessing the Doctor and what turned out to be her future self visiting filly!Derpy, and - upon hearing Derpy attempt to explain what happened - decided she wanted to understand time too.

The Equestrian version of the Grim Reaper is a human in full cowboy getup, brandishing a rope which he uses to lead ponies off to the afterlife. No pony has any idea why his visage is instinctually terrifying, but they all fear it regardless. When an alicorn dies, he hitches them up to a buggy and has them pull it to their resting place. Supposedly, it is considered special treatment. A silver-eyed crow is a harbinger of his coming.

Earth ponies have incredible immune systems, able to fight off most illness in a matter of hours, sometimes days. They have some resistance against “magical” disease, like Cutie Pox, but the phrase “healthy as a horse” came from the earth ponies’ amazing health.

Not sure if it’s been posted here, but after an extensive discussion on the subject, I’m firmly convinced King Sombra was Princess Celestia’s faithful student who fell to the dark side. I base this off of his immense magical power, and his similarities to episode one Twilight: They’re both completely absorbed in magic to the point of dismissing others (Twilight in studying and shunning her peers, Sombra in using it to the point that magic was all he needed to control his empire) and treating the people under their authority like garbage (Spike, the crystal slaves).
Sombra is all of Twilight’s negative traits taken to the extreme, and it would be a fitting parallel for them to have both been trained by Celestia. Plus, Sombra having walked Twilight’s path would explain why his traps seem perfectly designed for someone like Twilight; Sombra used to go on missions and solve problems for Celestia as her apprentice, and expected her to send his replacement to deal with him.
Sombra is all of Twilight’s negative traits taken to the extreme, and it would be a fitting parallel for them to have both been trained by Celestia. Plus, Sombra having walked Twilight’s path would explain why his traps seem perfectly designed for someone like Twilight; Sombra used to go on missions and solve problems for Celestia as her apprentice, and expected her to send his replacement to deal with him.

Some relatively sane ones first…
DJ P0N3 invented the turn tables that she uses, similarly to how the Flim Flam brothers invented their automated cider machine. She may have also created the speakers that she uses. She may even be behind the creation of gramophones in the setting.
DJ only started/will start using the alias of Vinyl Scratch when records started/will start using polyvinyl. Currently/previously, she uses/used the alias Shelly Spinner, after the material shellac. Obviously, this particular theory revolves around whether or not they’ve moved on from shellac or invented polyvinyl chloride.
I don’t think that Equestria actually has plastics yet, at least not in mass production.

DJ is actually from the future. The reason that she has what seems to be electronic speakers and turn tables in what seems to be an old west or Edwardian time period is because she was born after that time period, when electronics had become commonplace.
Due to an incident with trying to spin a record in two directions at once, she was sent back in time, and has since recreated the technology she used in her day job. Despite her engineering abilities, she hasn’t been able to reverse the time jump.
She’s actually the daughter of Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Dash was the one that gave birth to her, as Rarity didn’t want to ruin her figure. She has her mother’s eyes.
Alternatively, she’s actually the sister of Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle. After a huge argument over her choice of career, she left her family and hasn’t talked to her parents since. Regretting the results of that argument, they were softer on Twilight and supported whatever lifestyle choices she made.
DJ has never met Octavia and doesn’t have the slightest clue who she is. DJ does listen to classical music, but mostly focuses on horns and percussion. Drums, baby.
note: I actually do like DJ/Octavia ships and interactions, but I find it unlikely that they’ve actually met.

Alternatively, it actually is Pony, the same way that the Mayor is named Mare, and she’s the third child, or the third member of the family with that name.

- Celestia has to periodically “purge” the Canterlot nobility when they get too powerful and start oppressing the riffraff. Given the way they’ve been acting lately, the next purge will probably occur within the next decade. Among the survivors will be Fancy Pants, Fleur-de-Lys, and the Sparkles.
- The other reason Celestia hates the nobility so much is because they were partly responsible for Luna’s original downfall and corruption (through their manipulation of Celestia).
Insane Headcanon that I pulled out of my rear just now™! - Twilight Sparkle’s mental breakdown in “Lesson Zero” was even worse than we saw on-screen, to the point that Celestia wasn’t able to snap her out of it, and sent her to an insane asylum. In other words, every episode after “Lesson Zero” (including the ending of that one) is actually just the manic fantasies of a straitjacket-clad Twilight.

Never mind the worst they do is act like smug jerks and occasionally humiliate some random pony at a formal event, while non-elite ponies have proven themselves capable of intentionally drugging their relatives with magical rohypnol, bring giant star bears into their towns because they believed some cock-and-bull story, harass ponies halfway across the country, use a magical artifact to take over a town, cause massive destruction at formal events because the events didn’t magically warp themselves into filling their unrealistic expectations or just because they felt like it, clone themselves a million times and let their clones run rampant over the town, etc, etc…
There is a radio show called What The Buck Is Wrong With You, run by a DJ calling himself Rainbow Nash, and Ponyville gets disproportionately represented thanks to the antics of the Mane Cast.

God no, I’ve always hated that plot twist. Makes me feel like I’ve wasted my time on events that are of absolutely no consequence.
-Headcanon: Applejack’s parents aren’t dead, they’re in exile for treason. See, the two of them belonged to a radical, racist earth pony separatist movement and were caught making bombs they intended to use to terrorize Canterlot in the barn. They never squealed on the groups actual leader, so Filthy Rich is still walking free. Currently he’s working on a plan to assassinate Twilight.
-Rarity’s parents are members of a cult, allegedly devoted to undermining harmony and bringing about the reign of their dark lord Tirek, but in reality its mostly just something to do on the weekends. The ritual animal sacrifices have a potluck dinner afterward, and every other month they hold a big pancake breakfast to raise money for the forces of darkness.
