This isn’t the best place to discuss this but, here goes: The referendum was non-binding, meaning that the government can leave the EU or not, they are not legally bound to. They want to negotiate first and leave the EU later, because that will provide them with political advantage, the EU wants for them to leave first and negotiate later, because that will leave the EU with political advantage. The UK will stall as much as possible because of that. The problem is that the longer the UK takes its time, the more economical uncertainty is there for outsiders considering investments in the EU and/or the UK. Any deal would most likely be stopped. What we have right now is an economical battle, whoever can go longer without this deals, the EU or the UK, without sinking their economy, will come out on top because whoever blinks first loses.

I wonder if the EU can force them to. I mean, the UK government now is all, “We’ll invoke Article 50 when we’re good and ready!” and the rest of the EU seems to be all, “You wanted out, so get out and stop dragging your feet.”

Honestly, though, I wonder if the UK government will follow up on the promise.

They hated us anyway. Us leaving just makes them feel validated in expressing their views more openly. Kind of like how all the racists in the UK crawled out the woodwork because they assumed that leaving meant being racist is okay (ya know, the morons). The real question is what do you do about that hatred? Do you let them chastise a nation for expressing their own views or do you try to convince them that it’s our right to make the decision and we should still try to work together? Because that’s the real issue. If us not being part of a little club makes us suddenly unwelcome then I’d say the EU has bigger social issues to deal with than it realizes.

I didn’t mention Farage or Bojo in that comment I said campaigners. For Bojo lies he claimed to take control of the migrant numbers but then suggested a points system not controlled by government but by the economy.
said he could take back control but also be part of the single market in which you have to follow rules set by the EU and pay to be part of. so much for taking back control.
He was fired twice for lying in his younger years and would say one thing and do the other when he was mayor of London. He can’t stop lying.

What lies? You realize Nigel Farage ran a separate Leave campaign than the one ran by Boris Johnson right? Plus Farage is not part of the government and he wasn’t part of the main Leave campaign so his word is worthless.

Yeah, I know. But you must’ve have realised how that sounded once you typed it. It’d be like someone who gets along with kids going, “I love kids, especially little girls.”
