I second this notion.
Oh great. It’s the Super Genesis Wave all over again. Only this time, there’s not a lawsuit involved.
>Shadowlock’s power is retconning reality
>He retcons all of the series up till now
>The comic world becomes a completely new timeling starting from S1’s first episode
>guardians of harmony series is born

That’ll have some heavy consequences.
Dang. I was hoping for some counter to the whole “Black Changelings BAD, Colorful Changelings GOOD!” BS from the show.
No.
Have the books brought up any other Changeling Hives other than Chyrsalis’s (or Thorax’s)?
It was fun parody of Men in Black complete with a neuralizer spell. Also a good side story involving a changeling infiltrator.
Wasn’t she the one who managed to present SMILE as a pretty brutal Intelligence agency, as well as making the formation of the Mane 6 a highly secret Black Ops project?
I really need to pick up her books…
For the most part, Berrow’s books are better than the average episode.
She can take the time to go into lavish detail on things that an episode would be forced to gloss over.
Celestia’s and Discord’s are especially good.

… Suddenly, the novels sound interesting.

Good question.
The books are definitely canon, the comics are up in the air, it seems. I’d wait until specific references, and even then, I don’t think books that aren’t specifically mentioned are canon. That Pinkiepalooza book is, for example.
What do you mean “become” canon? There have already been multiple references to several of the chapter books in the show. One of them even directly influenced the show. They’re already basically canon. The comics have several references too…
Starswirl is different though, because the one has a descriptor before their name, and is a different gender.
>inept wizard with no sense of right and wrong
Seem’s to be pretty common in equestria honestly :p
Though at least Comet tail’s name isn’t so obviously malicious sounding like miasmo.
Comet Tail is a background pony in the show.
Comet Tail the Starry Eyed is a historical figure mentioned in a couple of the Berrow books.
Think of it like how there’s toy pony named Starswirl but there’s also a pony in the show named Starswirl the Bearded.
Unless both Comet Tails turn out to the same pony…
