Well, her heat will end early for one thing. Think back to earlier in this series, specifically panel two from >> 112198

So, two possibilities:  
Dragon can’t get ponies pregnant, therefore Spike can become AJ’s booty call for whenever she’s in that mood.
 
Or dragons can, in fact, get ponies pregnant, but AJ can’t resist, gets pregnant from Spike, and I don’t fucking know what happens next.
