so i’ve never seen pinkie’s role in filli vanilli as assholish at all; she was (apparently) the only pony present who could understand fluttershy and what she was going through, and she articulated fluttershy’s exact fears back to her.

it’s just like fluttershy confirming rainbow dash’s worst fear in tanks for the memories. it might look callous, but i think even knowing the need to make the statement implies some amount of empathy.

I do agree that she was particularly insensitive, and just could not take the hint that she needed to put a cork in it, but she genuinely thought she was telling Fluttershy her singing was great when she drove her to tears.
“Wait, didn’t I say that?”
“Hardly!”
“Oops.”
So, yes, while it can be perceived as her being an asshole, it’s more another example of her not understanding the effect of what she’s saying.

That is true but a lot of wacky-related cartoon characters have this when they’re not completely looked over. But you have to agree that Pinkie in Filli Vanilli was clearly Asshole Pie.

Well, not necessarily ‘Asshole’. Pinkie isn’t doing it to purposefully be mean. She just tends to lack a social filter, and isn’t always aware of the effect her actions and words have on others. Again, as someone with autism, I can relate.
