A lot of that seems to come from the whole innocence thing, I’ve seen Brightbutter clop pics tagged “we are going to hell”.

People take my criticism of Timber and Sci-Twi’s relationship to seriously. Like they cry foul and demand I defend my position even though it’s just my take on the matter.
 
I’m plenty vocal about how I feel about it but that’s hardly a reason to get all pissy when it comes up.

The problem is that so many people bitch about Timbertwi for numerous reasons that no one really cares to see more negativity.

I could go into my complaints about the contrast presented in LoE and all that jazz but frankly it will just lead back to the same square as before.
 
I’m not much for discussing fanon ships so I always try to discuss things that at least have some base in canon (like Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail’s relationship).

I think LoE presented an interesting contrast that painted Timber in a bad light for me.
 
Flash monologuing about his feelings that he could never have reciprocated gave him an unexpected character depth for a franchise like this. Meanwhile I felt Timber was nothing but a flirt who doesn’t seem like Twilight’s type, just pairing her because…I dunno, she’s the main character?
 
As canon ships go, this is one I can never buy into. I wish there was another, secondary relationship happening in the franchise to demonstrate the contrast they tried to introduce in LoE.

That’s exactly how I feel about it. I don’t mind looking at lewd art once in a blue moon but I prefer SFW art (in fact most of the pictures in my favs are SFW).

I don’t like Timber/Twi either. That being said, I don’t hate him. But I’d rather he’d stay a platonic friend to her and the group instead of being yet another rushed love interest for Twilight. That or give the dorkier traits and lines he had to Flash.
 
Also, all mixed feelings aside, I have no ill will against people who do ship it.

I really don’t think Twilight should be shipped at all, and certainly not with either of those two.
 
As characters, Flash is at least slowly been getting some depth, but it’s been nearly 5 years and he’s barely made progress. Timber is just as shallow but less than 2 years is less than less than 5. Hmm that came out odd.
 
While actually watching the interactions they have with Twilight (or mentions) it’s amusing, and don’t care for the ship in-universe (as in, I’m don’t care for it), but outside watching I think it’s poorly executed and only exists for creative appeal or executive mandate, as much as that could be typed for other creative decisions.

Oh yeah. Despite liking Flash and Timber, they are both unfortunately rather flat and come off like they were put in due to executive meddling of some sort. But thankfully canon Flash is getting some signs of improvement.

Magical offspring usually bother me in other fandoms (namely ones that have no magic in them in canon). But for MLP, it honestly doesn’t bother me. We’ve had magic that can literally change another character’s species. Temporary sex change magic just doesn’t seem far fetched to me (especially since they implied such magic already exists already).

That’s kinda how I feel too. Still not a fan of it as I dislike all offspring chances, but in the FiM universe it at least seems somewhat plausible as sex and species and race changing are possible via powerful enough magic. But that means the caveat of knowing or being an advanced unicorn/alicorn to make it work.
 
Still more plausible than most other series.
