Well Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz are the Green Lanterns in charge of Earth as well as in the JL. John Steward is leader of the GLC, Guy Gardener is right hand man, (Along with half a dozen other supporting GLC characters) and Hal Jordan is more or less going around space just being a regular Green Lantern. (there’s a lot more story but that’s the basics of it)

Founding as in the one that was there at the beginning/formation of the Justice League? Hal Jordan.
Who’s the Green Lantern in the Justice League right now? Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz.

Sorry if I seemed to repeat myself, the terminology threw me off.

Subversion should be used more than deconstruction. Its more open and general, less over-used in conversation by people who have their heads up their asses, and is easier to not fuck up **glares at Re:Zero**.

I like Re:Zero for how it was not afraid of going to dark places, the whole Return by Death being treated as something thats difficult for the main protag, and the characters were pretty fun even if they were nothing special. But holy fuck did it ever shoot itself in the foot by trying so hard to be sooo different from every other Isekai but then ditching all of its darker content and handling the Romance in such a shit way. Its like the writers thought that by pissing all over the genre and DEKONTRUSCUTING it by making it brutal as fuck in the middle before going over to not be dark at all. The only thing that could be actually considered a deconstruction is the scene where Subaru tries to be Emilias knight which was just retarded, forced, and so out of place.

If we promoted subversions over deconstructions more often then less writers would be super pretentious because deconstructions need to take idealistic cliches and criticize them by putting them to a realistic standard. Really the only deconstruction ive seen thats worked is Trigun. Subversions however you just criticize something, its vague and easy to mold with so we will have less pretentious morons thinking they have some piece of art when in actuality all they have is a 2br00tal4me version of something else. It takes less thought to subvert something than it does to deconstruct something.

not like the original had any great dialogue.

other than some memetastic ones.

seriously, if the original lord of the rings trilogy was aired the two towers, the return of the king then aired the fellowship of the ring a couple of years later people will call it crap/slow.

The scenes where the characters had to act without words were good, and the droid army was a pretty neat thing, from a visual and conceptual standpoint.

Aside from that, it’s a pretty good depiction of The Hero’s Journey.

At the end of the day, my reaction is that it had it’s good points. They’re not my favourite movies of all time, but I don’t regret watching them.

P.S. The JarJar theory would have been amazing if it panned out.

Star Wars Clone Wars, or Star Wars The Clone Wars?

I liked the thick line 2d animated one more. It felt like it had much tighter storytelling structure. I only saw a few episodes of the 3d one and that seemed… okay. Better than average, I suppose, but probably not something that I’d get really all that invested in.

Come on. You can’t be serious. Anyone would tell you the Jar-Jar Binks is evil theory is goddamn stupid. Why? Easy. Because, first of all, I doubt George Lucas when writing the prequel trilogy would be smart enough to think of that. Or maybe he did, but realized it’s stupid. Or he just didn’t want to.

Second of all, Jar-Jar is so very clearly the comic relief. Every moment he’s on screen during The Phantom Menace makes it clear that he is just the comic relief. There is NOTHING indicating that he’s anything more than the comic relief. Every action, EVERY. SINGLE. THING. HE. DOES, is as the comic relief (except for the Gungans vs. droids battle, I guess, but even then, most of it was an accident). There is nothing that could prove he could be evil.

And even in the 3D Clone Wars show (which is canon), in that one episode where he saved the day was written by people who were talented writers. And you know what that episode shows? Jar-Jar Binks being a bumbling idiot. Yeah, he pulled one over the droids. So what? He was just smarter than usual. And the droids were also comic relief (and kinda dumbasses, too, but actually funny) in that first-season episode anyway.
