Basically, I agree with you that hatred neither makes sense nor is it a good means of communication. In relation to Donald Trump, such reactions, whether hatred or caricatures, do not surprise me in any way anymore. This man has polarized and divided the US society from the very beginning. A circumstance which I find downright ridiculous in view of the country’s founding history.
The problem is that we as a global community are now living in a time when a lot of things are emerging that we might have wished we hadn’t seen before. That the idea of uniting for the good of all is great and beautiful in principle, but that it is also very easily exploited to support only the rich, the powerful and the privileged. The same problem exists here in Europe and certainly in many other countries around the world.
But this man, this president (and there have been a number of bad US presidents, if you are honest), he literally takes the cake. The fact that he, in his ridiculous and impudent manner, not only offends half the population, but also repeatedly endangers the entire population, tarnishes the reputation of the entire nation and makes no secret of his misogynistic attitude, I believe that he should not just be dismissed. In my opinion, he belongs… Well, I don’t want to go into that now. But his connection to the Republican Party will also be a long-term drag on its reputation. The problem is, I have little confidence that things will improve. Probably all hell will have to break loose first for mankind to realize that we simply can’t make any progress with the systems we have used so far. We urgently need democratic reforms worldwide. Some kind of Democracy 2.0.
But like I said. I don’t believe in it. Because for that to happen, people would first have to realize that they are all in the same boat, and that nobody can get better if we just constantly tackle the problems of individual groups. No matter in which part of the social community, economy, science, no matter in which part of the world or income class. And that greed is a crime, not a virtue. The previous doctrine that if the economy is doing well, everyone is doing well, is a lie. It simply isn’t true. Just as it is not true that such nonsense as communism or anarchy would work. The solution to the problem is to reform democracy and adapt it to the needs of all. And not to limit it only to the needs of the ever richer elites. Democracy must also be protected from the influence of anti-democratic, nationalist influences. Again, I’m not just talking about the US. If it were up to me, a coalition of European nations would march into Hungary at this very moment and place the entire Orban administration under arrest.
But I’m afraid I’m rambling again. Actually I just wanted to say: Donald Trump deserves to get what is coming to him all the time. In principle, he hasn’t noticed enough how much people around the world actually are against him or at least how much they should be. But that’s just my opinion, of course. No offense. ;-)
