MLP G5 Discussion and Speculation Thread

I feel like in the movie pit was a celebrity singer who also did things on apps like that But here it feels like she is a celebrity for doing things on app like that

Movie, 2D YouTube series, 4 specials, a Netflix series, a video game, AND a VR app?

Hasbro is going all-in on G5.

I’m still surprised that Hasbro wanted to produce a My Little Pony game with decent graphical fidelity that doesn’t look like shovelware. And it looks like a fun game. I don’t think I’m gonna buy it, but I appreciate the dedication from the company.

And now I hear that there’s gonna be a VR app.

Ok, that’s the Hasbro I want to see, not the one from 2013 when they sent a cease and desist to the devs of Fighting is Magic (and that game became Them’s Fightin’ Herds and it looks cool).

There’s lots of stuff, although I admit the ones that I was interested in were Fighting is Magic (which became Them’s Fightin’ Herds) and Pony Kart. The 3D models of that game were okay, but as someone who saw it for the first time in 2013, it was adorable.

The fan game community ain’t the same as it used to be. Heck, there probably isn’t one now anymore. I don’t know where else to go to find some assistance with mine.

Perhaps go find someone who worked on a current MLP game?

Perhaps go on MLP forums and give people ideas for fangames. And then maybe recruit some enthusiatic people?

And show them YT videos on gamedevelopment?

You guys forget that Hasbeo is very trigger happy with the CnD strikes , I think k that’s why there aren’t as many “big” fan games nowadays as there were in the past

I know nothing about game stuff as of now at least.

By MLP forums I meant the website MLP Forums. Maybe Equestria Daily if it has forums, you could do the same.

I would like to ask what game did you have in mind?

There still are MLP fan games though. Like Legends of Equestria or Pony Town. And I heard some are in recent development.

You know Welcome to Ponyville? Not sure about the original engine used since its apparently a custom one but I’m remaking it in Ren’Py. High emphasize on remake cause past a certain point it deviates due to a different story I had in mind.

Yes I do know that game. I remember watching it on YT back in the 2010s. I was always windering why youtubers didn’t go the next acts.

They still exist. Problem is lack of exposure. Equestria Gaming was dead for awhile, completely offline, and only now seems to be posting with some order again. Lots of gamedevs I imagine may not know it’s still there, not to mention a audience. /mlp/ still has interesting projects from time to time but unless they get REALLY BIG, they are probably not going to be propagated well. Equestria Daily has always kind have dropped the ball and though they do report on game news often report more on mods for popular games over some of the full games in development.

I’m still not sure if I’m going to like this new baby dragon or not…. Sparky Sparkeroni? Um… Not really my form of humor, but…. ukay? Maybe…? Nah, actually not. But have seen worse. I’ll wait and see what the show will make of it. ;-)

Hard to judge from toy/box art but I understand the reluctance. I certainly don’t like the design I see that is for sure. Name is meh, the universe was always filled with punny names though it feels weak if for a possible significant cast member.

Hmm this does make me think..

What will his purpose be? I don’t see him becoming an assistant because he’s literally a baby. G5 would have to do a major time skip just to get him to be Spike’s age to do important stuff. If he turns out really developed and can actually speak full sentences and already has wings, that would break lore. I can only see him being a small companion.

Maybe Sparky will be the “spark” for the Mane 5 to explore more of equestria, a motivation to find the other non-pony races

“Sparky Sparkeroni” reminds me somewhat of “Brights Brightly”.

Rewatching the movie and Queen Haven does in fact say that Zipp is the crown princess and that her full name is Zephyrina.

Didn’t know if the former was only promotion material and the latter was a TYT thing.

I can’t imagine how bizarre would be to see the mane six again in a reboot. Like how G5 was going to be before they changed its characters. The “I am not Twilight Sparkle. I am just an ordinary earth pony who likes to read books and invent things” and “Who is Applejack? I am Big Apple. A totally different character”. I am so glad that they changed their minds. I know that they use characters from other generations in MLP reboots but this would be the very first time for all the main characters.

We found ourselves with this whole decade of storytelling and really rich lore, and it felt wrong to walk away from all of that.”
